Trump blames Dems for failing too participate in heath care reform!

Pffft.

You know damn well that the republicans were told to go to the back of the bus.

You didn't address the fact that McConnell blocked amendments from his own GOP .

Throughout their impressive legislative victories, the GOP never offered an affirmative vison of what they would do on health care if given power (for obvious reasons). So no, people never said the approach the GOP has now laid out is what they wanted.

Once the GOP's bluff was called and they had to actually put pen to paper, the American public ran away from their awful legislation screaming.

Just as Senators McConnell and Paul wouldn't comment on or criticize KYnect, even though it was ACA. Or those GOP voters who like ACA but hate Obamacare .

Well, he is right that liberals have been wasting their time and energy on muck throwing instead of working constructively. I undeestand, why they would. But that doesn't excuse them for harming the country.

The "muck" was the GOP HC bill and yes it was a waste of time. Opposing Trump is not the same as harming the country either. Quite the opposite. Trump has already inflicted much harm on the country and its standing in the world. Much to Putin's glee and some of you guys too for some twisted reason.

The funding was worked out seven years ago. I've said for months that if the executive branch would implement the law we wouldn't have a problem: commit to enforcing the individual mandate, pay the CSRs owed the insurers, and market the marketplaces come open enrollment.

That may be less operative now that we have to deal with the damage Trump has caused. But fundamentally there isn't much that needed to be done here.

Most of funding of the CSR's is illegal. Why should the taxpayers pay insurance companies. It's their job to make a profit, not bill the taxpayers for one.

BTW, any "damage" is that done to taxpayers. No one cares about them.

Because the insurance companies have paid part of the patient liability directly to health care providers, keeping actual copays, coinsurance, and deductibles down (this is why the median deductible in marketplace plans bought last year was $850). The government then owes them what they spent on those cost-sharing reductions.

If you think Trump has no authority to pay it, so be it--then Congress should authorize the funds. Doesn't matter who does it, that money needs to be paid. The threat that it won't be is driving premiums up substantially.

I guess you could say that none of them voted for a plan that only 12 or 13% of the country approves of, but failing to participate, that is a laugh. The Dems were never given a chance to participate in the Senate version of the GOP health care plan and were refused the right to offer amendments. Something the GOP did get to do in Obamacare where over 100 GOP amendments became part of the plan. And one reason that no Dem voted for the Senate versions of the GOP health care plan is that it never came to a vote. That is because the GOP couldn't get together on a plan enough to bring it to a vote. I constantly read and hear GOP operatives saying that the Dems have no ideas, but their idea was Obamacare and they seemed poised to make the changes in that plan to help. Clinton even had suggestions for fixing the plan. Hopefully the Dems won't do what the GOP did for the past 6 years when Obama was president and just obstruct.

It's not sounding like they will obstruct. They shouldn't. I have to say I am appalled at the President saying he hopes Obamacare fails - throwing millions of people off healthcare. He hopes American citizens suffer?? :x:x:x

Ahhh......no.

Obama had his daily meetings with his henchmen/women.

Fact check and Snopes is for the lazy.

Denying Snopes is worse than lazy, but quite common among Trump supporters. "Give us more of those alternative facts please."

Yep payback sucks!

Childish as it may seem.

This is our government - payback should not be in the equation - they're supposed to be adults.........oh yea - look who the president is - toddler in chief - his claim to fame is to get even. God help us.

The GOP are in control of everything. If they could just agree upon a bill and pass it the Democrats would be powerless to stop them.

Are you saying that the GOP legislators are so weak willed that the Dems, "throwing muck" as you say is "hurting their wittow fewings" and preventing them from properly coming up with a bill of their own? Please!

The truth is that the GOP have shut the Dems out of any of their hearings and don't want the Dems contribution. What they've proven is that despite their promise of 7 years to repeal the ACA they've proven when the rubber meets the road they're just a bunch of keystone cops.

It's time for the GOP to admit that obstructing for 8 years is easy but once they've finally "caught the car" legislating is hard.

I believe the Bills have been written behind closed doors, private, was anyone from the insurance industry party to these Bill drafting's? Seems idiotic not to invite experts from the Med and Insurance industries.

Exactly - without including the insurance companies and big pharma - we aren't going to get far enough.

Pffft.

You know damn well that the republicans were told to go to the back of the bus.

They were asked for input at least. thats more than the republicans did. It seems you are ok with "revenge" politics. How do you think it will play out again with a dem majority when the republicans don't even ask or include dems? Is this really what you want politics to be?

The republicans wrote their bills behind closed doors and didn't ask for input from anyone. Even you can see this is a doomed procedure. He dems had hearings, asked for input, and at least made it open for the most part. The republicans have done everything in secret.

The Dems took themselves out of the picture when they absolutely refused to accept anything unless it was Obamacare.

HUH? Why aren't the moderate "Dems" reaching out?

Chucky.......that is why.

The democrats are run by freaking assholes.

Where were the democrats when republicans wanted a voice with the ACA?

You and 20-30 others on here find this to be conveniently a non issue.

You realize it's the GOP's choice to box out the Democrats from being able to participate in hearings or offer amendments to the any of the AHCA. The GOP are in control of everything. Are you seriously placing the blame on the Dems for the GOP not being able to draft and pass a repeal and replace bill?

Not one dem said they were going to repeal Obamacare so why is it a suprise when they don't? Trumps blaming the dems is idiotic.

EDIT: it is especially idiotic for trump to blame the dems since they were never asked to give any input by the republicans unlike the fact the dems did ask the republicans for input into the aca.

Actually on the edit they were asked for input and refused to get together to even talk about it.

Actually on the edit they were asked for input and refused to get together to even talk about it.

Because the edit was to repeal Obamacare and replace it with ****. Of course the dems will refuse. Do you blame the republicans for not working with Obamacare under obama?

working with Obama? were they asked for input on the ACA? hell most of the dems didn't even know what was in it... you know we need to pass it to find out whats in it.

Yes they were asked for input .

You do realize that the Dems allowed the GOP to place over 100 amendments into the final ACA . That included removing the public option from the plan. So the Dems certainly gave the GOP a voice in the ACA. The problem is that the GOP hated Obama so much that they did nothing for 6 years but obstruct.
