Trump’s envoy to testify that ‘no quid pro quo’ came from Trump

That's the problem...these hearing are held "behind closed doors". Transparency? I think not.

And it's not leaking like a sieve...it is very carefully filtered leaking.

They learned a lot from Darrel Issa and Trey Gowdy.

Trump is hardly 'anonymous' and Trump himself, in his very own words, literally admitted to a quid pro quo. This has been substantiated by Rudy Giuliani live on national television. There absolutely was a quid pro quo.
 No there wasn't . If you can find it spit it out.

If Sonderland's testimony contradicts all the other witnesses and evidence then he could be held in contempt for lying to congress.

At that point, they should just....LOCK HIM UP!!!

It is a criminal offense to threaten or extort others in order to make some form of personal gain (whether financial or for political advantage) from actions that you are legally- and duty-bound to perform. Trump has been extorting people all his life, this was just one more incident.

By withholding military aid from Ukraine, which had already been approved by Congress, as a means of coercing their President into digging up dirt on Joe Biden and his son, Trump was effectively forcing the Ukraine to provide him with a political advantage while withholding Congressionally-approved funds from the Ukraine until such a time as this was done.

The transcript makes it clear enough that this one was akin to a mob-boss shakedown: do this for us, and we’ll continue to offer you support. This particular part was rather telling:

“I will say that we do a lot for Ukraine. We spend a lot of effort and a lot of time… I wouldn’t say that it’s reciprocal necessarily because things are happening that are not good, but the United States has been good to the Ukraine.”

Does that or does that not sound like a veiled threat: we’re being good to you now, but that could change at any moment. Particularly when we come to this:

“I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows lots about it… There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney-General would be great.”

Really, Donald? Neither Biden nor his son have been implicated in any wrongdoing - that’s all a slanderous allegation leveled by Trump at Hunter Biden’s participation in business dealings in Ukraine, and neither the Ukraine nor the US found that any wrongdoing had been perpetrated on his part. This is all a smear attempt to get Biden’s name put next to words like ‘corruption’ - as you’ll note Trump has done several times, in the hope that his supporters buy into it.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Office of the President of the United States. It has nothing to do with serving the country. This one’s all about Donald Trump, and his re-election bid. He’s terrified that Biden might gain the Democratic nomination for the 2020 Presidential election, because the polls place Biden well ahead in that particular race, and his previous executive and political experience far eclipse that of Trump. As was done with Clinton, Trump knows that his best shot at winning is to smear Biden sufficiently that independents stay home on election day, meaning that his support from the Republican Base alone is sufficient to re-elect him.

In reality, however, we’re seeing Trump yet again drawing in a foreign nation and using them in an attempt to influence a Presidential election. Doing so as a private citizen was one thing - doing so while President of the United States is a clear and shocking violation of his Oath of Office.

Impeachment is the only possible recourse here.

Are you speculating? Or hoping?

Lemmings are consistent for dems

The U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, intends to tell Congress this week that the content of a text message he wrote denying a quid pro quo with Ukraine was relayed to him directly by President Trump in a phone call, according to a person familiar with his testimony.

Sounds similar to “they were discussing Russian orphans”.....

Epstein On Welcome Back, Kotter had better luck with notes signed by “Epstein’s Mother........

Similar from another source w/o paywall:

Ambassador to E.U. to testify he doesn'''t know why Ukraine aid was held up

Well aged post:

Ukraine president says 'no blackmail' in phone call with Trump

Haha. Except the White House released transcripts which indicate it was clearly quid pro quo. Christ, if Trump didn't have such a love affair with the poorly educated, he would have been impeached or removed from office long ago.

The Ukraine president has already said there was no Quid Pro Quo. He also said he wasn't aware the aid had been postponed until it was already reinstated.

Only a mind weakened by TDS would think that is a quid Pro Joe.

Naww Trump promised to drain the swamp and Biden is a swamp creature that been in politics so long he couldn't hold down an honest job. Trump has and obligation by treaty with the Ukraine to investigate corruption.

Pfft Impeachment and removal from office will never happen. Again Trump is jut fulfilling his obligation to investigate corruption.

This is all you're down to, right? What Zelensky said? The only thread you have left to hang your nutty position onto?

Donald Trump knew how badly Ukraine needed military defense, the Russians have killed over 13,000 Ukrainians so far and the killing goes on. But Ukraine didn't have the money to buy our Javelin missiles. That's putting Ukraine in an extremely compromised situation in which they will do or say whatever it takes to get that assistance.

I’ve seen the bolded assertion more than once here @ DP.

Question: If I owe you a payment, do you not know when that payment has been credited to your account? You know if it hasn’t, right?

What the call record said what Volker said what the Ukraine president said all match up. Unlike those people inflicted with TDS I can read the transcript. I don't need to be spoon fed Sack of Schiff lying version or the phone call. Sack of Schiff knew the phone call didn't have a Quid Pro Quo so he made up a lie instead. Pathetic.

" when we come to this"?
That's like starting off on chapter 1 and jumping to chapter 12.
Very dishonest.

What the call record said what Volker said

Volker also said the following which I quoted to you in another thread and you didn't respond:

"It is not credible to me that former Vice President Biden would have been influenced in any way by financial or personal motives in carrying out his duties as vice president. The accusation that Vice President Biden acted inappropriately did not seem at all credible to me." - Kurt Volker

And this means what?

It means that his "no quid pro quo" declaration in the text was staged to provide cover, which is what it already looked like. Do you also need to know what one plus one means? Um...two....it means two.

But Ukraine didn't have the money to buy our Javelin missiles. That's putting Ukraine in an extremely compromised situation in which they will do or say whatever it takes to get that assistance.

So now we are accusing the government of Ukraine of lying?
The president of Ukraine has already said he had no idea that aid was withheld, didn't feel threatened by the discussion. And the aid was released.

Trump had already long since said the same thing. He told this to the Sondlein who in turn said this to the other ambassador.
You guys are grasping at straws.

I mean it's not like Zelensky has 391 million reasons to lie($250 million in assistance + $141 million in suprise bonus last minute fun money)

“Now we can say we have very good relations with the US because now we will get not only $250m but [an additional] $140m. When you are waiting for $250m have the possibility to get $390m, I like this sort of relationship, I am sure we will have a meeting in the White House, because I was invited,” - Zelensky 9/17/19

Plus, there's Lutsenko's roll in this:

Lutsenko is unnamed Ukrainian who led plot to oust Yovanovitch, says official

LOL!!

So now the media is spinning the testimony BEFORE it's even presented. This has to be the ultimate in cherry-picked testimony.

Oh well, we know that Schiffty won't release the full transcript of the hearing...just like he refused to release the full transcript of ever single previous hearing.

Did we get a full transcript of the call in question yet? All we have so far is a "summary".
