Toilet Paper

I went to the store a couple days ago to get something I usually DON'T keep a good inventory of. I just wanted to get some packs of yeast.

All gone.

At every store I went, none.

Very strange to ME. I'll be fine until they restock, but really ? Everyone bought out the YEAST ?? Bread is ALWAYS fully stocked in stores still, so ...

People do odd things I guess

I went through that too. I even went online to Amazon and they were all out of stock for weeks. My guess is if you have flour and you have yeast you can make bread. Bread is one of the most common items people have to go back to the grocery in between shopping days. When this all started people were wiping out the bread. If someone is trying to stay out of the stores it makes sense they would want yeast for an in case of an emergency scenario.

True. I just hadn't even thought of it. Stocked on everything else always, but never thought I'd need to carefully check my inventory of yeast LOL Always something I guess.

Dude, that is NOT hoarding. People have purchased 12 packs of 48 rolls at a time.

I'm more worried about something disgusting that I read.

Every time you flush your toilet, a cloud of water vapor deposits microscopic poo particles on everything in your bathroom -- including your toothbrush.

Things we didn't need or want to know LOL

But yes, I think/hope this is common knowledge, put the seat down then flush, keep your toothbrushes a good distance from toilet etc etc

Oh, wash your hands : )

If you are hoarding toilet paper, please don't.

Everyone needs it.

Let's all share.

If everyone just bought things like they usually do we wouldn't have such shortages.

There is no reason to fear and panic. That doesn't solve any problems, it just creates them.

Rant over. Thanks.

I have been buying toilet paper in front of the Costco from people trying to return it. I have paid less than 10 cents on the dollar. I have over a 10 year supply now, if I didnt have my wonderful bidet with warm air blower feature. I am going give it way as presents and to teenagers wanting to TP someone's house.

I went to Wal Mart today at 6am which is the Senior time on Tuesdays, and low and behold there was some Scott toilet paper there. Not many packs, but at least I got one. A 12 pack. Yay! Now I feel at peace, which is kind of sick, but what can you do? Toilet paper is more valuable than gold right now.

I had gone online last night looking for toilet paper and as an example, Home Depot was sold out and there was no toilet paper from their stores within 100 miles of me. My local Wal Mart had some but if I had gone later in the day there would be none left. Still no cleaning supplies though. Glad I have plenty of that stuff to last for awhile

And here's something I've been thinking. If they say to wash your hands with soap and water and that will kill the virus, well, why not put some liquid soap and water in a spray bottle and use that to clean counter surfaces and toilet tops and faucets and refrigerator handles and other places where we touch all the time. At least dish soap still seems to be available. Just a thought.

Or maybe the soap might be too diluted that way, so pour soap on a towel or cloth and wet it and then go over the counters and handles and things. That's another thought.

OK...Call me uncivilized...I freely admit it...but I never have understood the whole bidet thing. It would seem to me...now...this is just me...that spraying water in that region would cause certain matter to splash in areas it wouldnt otherwise have spread...and then your backside is wet...requiring...wiping?

Oh my friend you have not experienced the wonders of a bidet with warm water spray that oscillates and cleans and massages you thoroughly and the blows warm air to dry you as thoroughly. A throne truly fit for a queen of king as the case may be. Its one of those luxuries where it would be barbaric to return to previous methods of "cleaning".

Maybe the billionaires can band together and offer bidets to us po folk during this crisis. Make themselves useful.

You will still have to rinse the surfaces. Soap is a surfactant, it uses mechanical and chemical action to clean.

You can get a Japanese bidet for only a mere pittance. ;)

I dont judge peoples lifestyle choices...

;)

So then rinse the surfaces. It's better than using nothing since cleaning supplies seem to be non-existent everywhere I go.

I don’t need TP, we have not bought any in months, we have two bidets I installed 2 yrs ago.
We could use a wash rag to dry, but we still have plenty of TP.

I posted an article some time ago about Security catching a guy leaving a hotel with 66 rolls of TP.

Prior to this virus outbreak hubby and I went on road trips. We had a trip planned for July :(.

Many rest areas across the States that provided restrooms had big heavy padlocks on the toilet paper dispensers to prevent theft of the huge rolls of TP.

That is why you always close the toilet seat lid before flushing. And clean the underside of the toilet seat lid.

Trust me, I am going too.

Common practice for me for many years. Plus, all the guidelines now being touted currently. I always avoided touching public surfaces and if I did, I never touched my face until I washed or sanitized my hands and did the same thing if I shook someone’s hand. The only thing I didn’t practice in the past was the current social distancing. Which I have put into practice currently. Looking forward to the day I can end the social distancing thing.

I do most of that and thought I was pretty clean, but didn't know I was brushing my teeth with something other than toothpaste.

Rest assured for all those who bought a year's worth of toilet paper, it will take a year for them to use it.

There are alternatives, leaves, old books not worth keeping, a hose....

Makes me think about how some women complained and tried to convince men to put the lower toilet seat down because some women didn’t look and assumed the man put the lower seat down and because of that they experienced that cold water

I think almost every woman has dunked their donut in cold kaka water at least once. And I can tell, they don't like it. If I hear the old lady scream at night from the bathroom, I run! :doh

I purchased toilet paper and paper towels commercially through a janitorial site .. we'll be fine for awhile. Just have to watch out for the finger poking through during execution

:2funny: As you should! Do you swerve back and forth to avoid toilet paper rolls flying thru the air as you run for duck and cover?

Roseann:)

In the store near me they were completely out of paper plates. Are people wiping their butts with those now?
