I'd love to see the 16th and 17th amendments repealed. senators would be answerable and responsible to their states-not to national special interest groups. The extra-constitutional power congress intentionally grabbed with the 16th Amendment would disappear. and that would increase the freedom of the people geometrically

As a conservative straight Christian, I don't see the problem. The entire point of these things is to draw attention to minorities and their oppression or history of oppression. If you think it's something being shoved down your throat, yeah well maybe it should. Now keep in mind I think wearing ass chaps in a parade is not acceptable whether straight or gay. But a rainbow sidewalk? Whatever.

Well, I was just a little kid in those days, so I guess I did miss it.

Anyway, that sixteen amendment you love so much was passed by promising it would never affect anyone but the rich. Nothing like an amendment built on class warfare rhetoric. A promise that I might add they never had any intention of keeping.

What is your problem with painting crosswalks? Gotta paint them every so often anyways, right? That's about the weakest argument ever.
Look, it is not like commissioning some million dollar statue. It is some stinking paint on the road. Who pays attention to that after a while. You rush to work and cross a sidewalk.

This is an entirely a locality issue imho. If the people have an issue with it, they can deal with it by getting rid of their city officials that allow for such a thing. Otherwise, it's not a big deal. I see zero reason why this should not be "allowed".
