The White House has hamstrung the FBI investigation of Kavanaugh allegations

He lied through his teeth....and frankly I don't know how much he might be drinking now and neither do you. We certainly can't trust anything he says about his drinking because he has already lied through his teeth about it.
Like that is even an big deal. Has he had a DUI? Ever been arrested for drunk in public. I knew several guys around his age in college that were serious pounders. They are all successful people today. Interestingly they all tend to play down how heavily they drank. BFD. He wore an ugly tie on Wednesday - go for that.

Leftists want Mueller to hire 30 lawyers and be given unlimited scope and investigate anyone Kavanaugh may have ever spoke with...24 months should do the trick....

So why is it a big deal? You want a to send a guy that cannot even get through a Congressional Hearing conducted just days ago without lying through his teeth directly to the SC? Good for you. What a surprise. As if the GOP had not already sold itself and every moral and ethical position it ever held right down the river already. The party's stated political platforms went out the window two years ago. So those are long gone. Always nice to have more evidence of it.

Sen Collins for example has made a big deal of believing Kavanaugh on Roe v Wade as a means to give her cover over voting Yes. If his lies are laid completely bare, how does Collins make the case for continuing to believe him on Roe v Wade?

NBC News incorrectly reported (as usual) that I was limiting the FBI investigation of Judge Kavanaugh, and witnesses, only to certain people. Actually, I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion. Please correct your reporting!

7:49 PM - 29 Sep 2018

I hope that's right.

Wouldn't be the first time Trump's mouthy right hand didn't seem to know what his official left hand was doing, but hopefully this time his mouth is right and the news report is wrong.

White House limits scope of the FBI's investigation into the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh

What are they afraid of?

And how do they think they're helping remove the doubt about Kavanaugh's fitness?

And here we go; the Lie-o- crats are already preparing their refusal to accept the results of the FBI probe that THEY HAVE BEEN DEMANDING, as they know it will make the Liespeak Smear Campaign lies more obvious.

What they REALLY WANT, in ANOTHER WITCH HUNT, digging into every aspect of Kavanaugh's life, as well as the lives of everyone he knows, going back to kindergarten...just like the "Wasn't this supposed to be about Russian interference/collusion" Mueller Witch Hunt, which is now not even trying to pretend that it is about anything OTHER THAN TO "GRT TRUMP' FOR SOMETHING/ANYTHING.

As was predicted in my thread yesterday...the Liespeak Smear Campaign will NOT accept the FBI's report.

And, the elected representative of the people, within the Executive Branch is the president.

Even the Executive branch is checked and balanced. The President is not the dictator of the Executive branch. There is a reason that the President can only nominate Heads of departments. That is because the framers did not want a dictatorship in the executive branch. The Unitary Executive Theory is nothing more than attempts to make our great Republic a dictatorship. And considering that the Constitution does not give the President such powers, the Unitary Executive Theory is not even Constitutional.

The president is the chief executive. The Constitution specifically states that. He is literally the only elected member of the Executive Branch, so it makes perfect sense that every department and agency answers to the president.

Can the president order an investigation? Yes, he can. Can he order an investigation on a whim? No. That's spelled out in the 4th Amendment.

If the departments and agencies don't answer to the president, they don't answer to anyone and that is unacceptable.

Any request for a more far reaching investigation is simply an attempt to make it open ended. That not only delays the confirmation process indefinitely but opens up the possibility of new allegations from some quarter. Maybe Kavanaugh spilled some kid's milk in kindergarten.

lets do an investigation like Hillary had would that be fair to repubs?????

The oath of office for the attorney general never mentions the President. Further the Attorney General is the Head of the DOJ not the President. Indeed the department heads answer to the President, but that means that the President does not have the power to micromanage any of those departments. The President can fire the department heads but can get in trouble and even be impeached for doing so. There are limits, checks and balances on each branch of the government. The executive branch has grown far beyond the scope that the framers created. The Unitary Executive Theory is a perversion and an attack on the Constitution. The executive branch is not a dictatorship, the presidency was never intended to behave as one. The President can only do what the Constitution says that he can do.

If trump gets away with such things as President, then it will lead the way for other president to use even more expanded executive powers. Personally that is where I am looking at, not the partisan crap going on now.

A. OATH OF OFFICE
I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental
reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which
I am about to enter So help me God.

Article 2, of The Constitution of The United States:

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.

Hopefully someone from the white house is just trolling us. I don't understand how the white house can have to authority to limit the scope of an investigation. These directives need to come from the DOJ.

The POTUS RUNS the DOJ.

Learn the Constitution.

The President, not the man and if the MAN gets caught using the agency for his own purposes, its a abuse of power. At this point Mueller probably has had to start a library of Trump abuses of power. A "file" would not possibly get it done.

Please review the Obama Adm.'s DOJ.

Please review the Obama Adm.'s DOJ.

You are sounding like Cory Lowendowski now. The guy has such a knee jerk "its Obama's fault mentality that he blamed Obama for a 2008 immigration law that Bush Jr signed.

The New Right or whatever the heck it is can't help itself. It has seen Obama in its nightmares from the moment Obama was standing at the WH front door. His name is just poised their to pop out of Trumpets throats at every opportunity.

It appears that the WH is trying to prevent the FBI from interviewing Kavanaugh. After all of the garbage at the hearing they are trying to keep Kavanaugh from being interviewed? Once that gets out, the whole issue of an honest investigation goes out the window and Trump will be left with dumping Kavanaugh or reaping the result.

In fact, the FBI has not even begun to interview anybody which makes no sense at all with a one week deadline. THIS IS A SHAM already. Good luck getting away with it though.
