The Weak Foundation of Calls for Climate Action

There is no Climate Emergency !

Reposted from edmhdotme What if there is no Catastrophic Risk from Man-made Global Warming ? What if Man-made CO2 emissions are not the “Climate Control Knob” ? What if Man-made CO2 emissions really are a non-problem ? But what if there is a real Global Cooling Catastrophe in the offing ? It is the propaganda of Catastrophic Global Warming…

Gut-Punch To Climate Alarmists: Americans See Little Threat From Climate Change

Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) president Craig Rucker tweeted the results of the most recent Gallup Poll, which found Americans have little concern about climate change.

“Only measly 2% of Americans believe ‘Climate Change’ is the most important problem facing our nation,” commented Rucker on the poll results.

The low results show that climate change is an issue that people worry about only when there’s nothing else to worry about. Climate change is more just an irrational obsession by neurotic socialites and elitists.
Despite the decades long media barrage of doomsday climate scenarios, Americans just aren’t buying it. . . .

"Alex, I'll take 'Stupid NYC Ideas' for $600."

Sea level rise due to climate change has long been a cause of concern for New York City. According to the*Lower Manhattan Coastal Resilience survey, released today, 37 percent of lower Manhattan will be at risk for storm surges by 2050. By 2100, sea levels could rise by*as much as six feet, scientists say. “We don’t debate global warming in New York City. Not anymore,” wrote de Blasio in a*post in*New York Magazine. “The only question is where to build the barriers to protect us from rising seas and the inevitable next storm, and how fast we can build them.”

The plan also includes more projects costing around $500 million, which would include resiliency measures like elevating parks and building removable flood barriers in lower Manhattan that can be used when a storm approaches. However, this strategy won’t work for the Financial District and South Street Seaport. These neighborhoods are on the very tip of the island and, according to de Blasio, are so crowded that it’s not feasible to build flood protection on the existing land. Instead, the city would like to develop approximately two more blocks of land (or about 500 feet) into the East River.*

[h=1]The Reassuring Facts About The Climate In 2019[/h]

[h=2]London, 26 May: 2019 saw the continuation of many climate trends, most of them unalarming and even reassuring. That’s the conclusion of a new report published by the Global Warming Policy Foundation.[/h]
According to the author, Professor Ole Humlum, although there has been a gentle warming in the last 40 years, storm activity is unchanged and snow cover remains stable. And while sea ice has declined, much of this may be natural variation.

“This report focuses on empirical observations and not on climate modelling speculations, says Professor Humlum. “We should therefore be greatly reassured by what these data are telling us”.

Professor Humlum also points out that new data on rising ocean temperatures raise interesting questions about the source of the heat.

“We can detect a great deal of heat rising from the bottom of the oceans. This obviously cannot be anything to do with human activity. So although people say the oceans are warming, in reality there is still much to learn.”

And Professor Humlum points out that where there is ignorance, it is always wise to be cautious.

“We have learned in recent months about the potentially high cost of leaping to conclusions. We must take more care in our response to small changes in the climate.”

Coral Catastrophes Imagined

April 10, 2020 By jennifer
Exactly one year ago yesterday, I was getting off a train in Proserpine, looking to pickup a hire car to drive to Bowen. I wanted to know if the coral there was all dead, or not. Bowen is a coastal town in North Queensland, not far from Abbott Point … [Read more...]about Coral Catastrophes Imagined

The government’s top Great Barrier Reef scientist says a third mass bleaching event in five years is a clear signal the marine wonder is “calling for urgent help” on climate change.

One quarter of the Great Barrier Reef suffered severe bleaching this summer in the most widespread outbreak ever witnessed, according to analysis of aerial surveys of more than 1,000 individual reefs released on Tuesday.

Dr David Wachenfeld, chief scientist at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, told Guardian Australia: “My greatest fear is that people will lose hope for the reef.

Damn tourists...

Yeah....its all from sunscreen.

Freaking hilarious

". . . New research published in Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology finds that a common chemical in sunscreen lotions and other cosmetic products poses an existential threat — even in miniscule concentrations — to the planet’s corals and coral reefs. “The chemical, oxybenzone (benzophenone-3), is found in more than 3,500 sunscreen products worldwide. It pollutes coral reefs via swimmers who wear sunscreen or wastewater discharges from municipal sewage outfalls and coastal septic systems,” said Dr. Omri Bronstein of TAU’s Department of Zoology, one of the principal researchers. . . ."

Oops! It may not be 'ocean acidification' killing coral after all - common chemical found in sunscreen is poisonous to coral reefs
