The Three Greatest TV shows ever

1) Johnny Carson-Tonite Show....2) Sopranos....3) All in the Family...4) M.A.S.H....5) Seinfeld

We're just going to end up listing our favorite shows and I cannot rank different types of shows against each other, but here goes.

Sci-Fi: Doctor Who (Big Finish classic audios, original, reboot), Star Trek (Next Generation/Original)

Serious(mostly): Band of Brothers, Sopranos, Breaking Bad.

Comedy: Monty Python, South Park, The Simpsons, Kids in the Hall, Seinfeld.

If I had to pick one from each..... Doctor Who (audios), Band of Brothers, Monty Python.

Did you ever watch the animated movie for the Transformers? A great movie for teenage boys, a little too adult for 9 year olds

Yeah, and I remember it being adult, but me getting away with it, cuz it was a cartoon. It had cussing, and the parents never suspected a thing.

Dang forgot about python and kids in the hall!

Three Stooges

Little Rascals

Baywatch

Get them all on DVD. I doubt Lie to Me will ever be syndicated. Ren and Stimpy was on Nickelodeon.

The Closer and Psych have been syndicated, IMO.

I found The Closer on cable Prime. Every season. Being anal retentive I started with season 1 pilot and saw 9 episodes so far.
For some reason one cable channel showed a half dozen episodes of season 5 or something. I recorded those but there was nothing else since then.
I like the show ... it's worth watching.
But the less Kyra Sedgwick smiles the better. Kinda has that Joker thing going when she turns it on.

Sopranos....Bill Maher....Seinfeld

around that time for me, it was Dukes of Hazzard, The Incredible Hulk, and CHiPs. seems like two of those were on Tuesday or Thursday, but that was like 35 years ago, so i'm not sure. i don't remember what night A Team was on, but that was another great show that we watched regularly.

I love it when a plan comes together.

The Dukes, Chips, oh yes...hubba hubba.

I guess the show implies every person with acute logical abilities has problems with the social side of life. What? We can't excel in both???...Live long and prosper.

BTW, if you can find Lie to Me, Ren and Stimpy and Psych, those shows will be worth your while, IMO. Lie to Me and Psych are more on the line of who-dun-it shows and Ren and Stimpy is simply outrageous. R&S has no politics which makes it better than South Park, IMO.
BTW, a show that recently aired, Major Crimes, is a sequel to The Closer. Major Crimes lets in a little more 'humanity' into their episodes (not that The Closer didn't).

Green Acres, Get Smart and F-Troop

When I was young, I used to like silly, immature shows like that. I can't stand watching them now.

Wow. Don Adams was US Marine. Eddy Albert was a boat mechanic in his own boat at Tarawa.

Oh yeah. One more thing. You suck

No no. I meant her smile itself. Her big broad smile is scary looking.
But the plots aren't your common fare and I like that.

I did look for Lie To Me. I'd have to pay for that one so I just set it to record if they ever bring it back in reruns.

Twilight Zone.... NYPD Blue ....... Seinfeld.

1. The Dukes of Hazard

Opinions? Anyone want to share their lists?

Comedy: Modern Family (based on the number of laughs if gives yours truly)
Sci Fi: Star Trek, The Original Series (way ahead of its time)
Drama: The Good Wife (Great plot twists and turns - "ER" would be my #2 pick but it jumped the shark after Clooney left)

Theme songs? That's easy!

#3:

#2 (to clear the palate):

and of course#1:

I like the original Hawaii 5-O much better than the reboot.

I like just about everything everyone has put out there so far. Too many to list just 3. How about 30 favorite shows. 10 from your youth and teens, 10 from your 20's to 40's, and 10 from those golden years. Now put the thinking cap on those of us with 60 years to think back.

I still enjoy an episode of the Beverly Hillbilly's. Then there was the serious Perry Mason. I couldn't get enough of Bonanza or the Big Valley.

Now THIS is whatcha call a delayed response.
The Closer has been showing in reruns on some cable channel. I recorded them all and managed to watch all but Season 7 and a couple of season 4 so far.
Thanks for turning me on to it.
Now I have to see if I can get Lie To Me and Psych on Amazon Prime.
I know The Mentalist is there.

Difficult, too difficult but in my top TV shows there will always be a place for (to hold me to three would be horrific and impossible to do as a true TV addict):

Mash

Star Trek Deep Space Nine

Oppassen (two grand dads, one a former mayor and one a former working class union man take care of their 2 grand children, they live in a house with their 2 grown children, one an actress always on the road and one an MEP in Brussels) Oppassen means babysitting and it ran for 12 years and 321 episodes. It was a hoot, the grandfathers could not be more different from another, one uptight, the other one down to earth and a bit of a social democrat.

Buffy the vampire slayer/Angel

cheers/frasier

Morse/Lewis

Midsomer Murders

NCIS

Doctor Who

Arrested Development

Monty Python/Fawlty Towers

Columbo

Lucifer

Blackadder

Newsradio (with the late great Phil Hartman)

little Britain

the blacklist

Elementary

etc. etc. etc. (yes, I know, real addict of TV shows).
