The poll has absolutely nothing to do with a "silent majority." The OP (and author, by way of the title alone) is attempting to use this poll to discredit all other polls, thus claiming a silent majority. It's hogwash.

What this poll found is that people are afraid to say they support Trump to those who could do them harm, cancel culture, customers, employees, etc. Makes perfect sense. Polling is anonymous, so this Cato poll is meaningless as applied to pollsters. It didn't ask "are you afraid to tell a pollster you support Trump?"

The article is disingenuous at best, and most definitely a pathetic demonstration of terrifying desperation.

I live in an area with a lot of Trump supporters.

And believe me, NONE of them are afraid to "proudly" show their support for Trump. If anything it's the Biden supporters like myself who keep to ourselves. I don't need any bumper stickers or signs in my yard to show who I'm voting for. Nor do I ever attend political rallies. Not my thing.

As I said many times, I think Trump and his minions have awoken a sleeping giant that they are going to regret awakening down the line.
