He did? He said there was no allegation of American involvement, or effect on the election IN THE INDICTMENT. He took care not to mention any other pending indictments or the investigation as a whole.

We must not allow them to succeed." So he said that no charges in these indictments did that. So I do not think that the entire picture is being told at this point. It could very be that the meddling was enough to sway the election but he cant say that without causing exactly what Putin was aiming for. Either way Trump is President unless he is legally impeached and removed. There is no provision to void the 2016 election even if it could be proven that the election was a fraud. So trump or his supporters need not to keep fretting over that. The thing that every American should be concerned about is that Russia is trying to destroy our country from within. Republicans and Democrats need to put their differences aside and stand together for Americas sake. We need to bring back the attitude that we had after 9/11 United we stand....and just stop with the hyper-partisan playing into Russias hands bit.

The thing is, every single agency which has commented has said there is zero evidence that anything the Russians did had any effect on the election. They said this up front when they announced that the Russians had tried.

What the Russians have succeeded in doing, to an alarming degree, is undermining faith in the electoral process, but that's largely because so many people simply want to believe that the election is illegitimate, so they're playing into it. Whether it's intentional or not, playing into it is what they're doing.

Yes it is Russians NOT influencing our elections that has us all upset. No one can know how many votes their propaganda campaign changed but we do know they were not doing it for fun.

How DOES one establish the effectiveness of a propaganda campaign?

How do you PROVE someone was psychologically manipulated? How would THEY know?

There must be some effectiveness or it wouldn't be a ten billion a year industry. Companies and political operations wouldn't keep practitioners on staff. Every political speech wouldn't be written using these techniques.

The industry uses polling, focus groups, etc to determine the effectiveness of their messaging campaigns.

They never promise hard numbers. Only predictable, repeatable percentages of a target demographic. Based on design and saturation of the messaging.

The fact its virtually impossible to prove, without some non-existant technology, means no crime can be charged.

Not that it didn't happen.

And don't forget.

The Russians only exploited the conditioning we have already been subjected to by domestic practitioners.

They did NOT lay the groundwork.

When a President is elected solely by only 80,000 votes in 3 Blue States while losing the popular vote by over 3 million it is not hard to believe something went wrong with the system. Then you have the Russians helping Trump and Trump denying the facts while acting in every way like Putin's patsie. It is bound to be disconcerting don't you think?
