The Lincoln Project

The Lincoln Project is an American political action committee formed in late 2019 by several prominent Republicans and former Republicans. The goal of the committee is to prevent the reelection of Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Are these Ads a serious problem for the Trump campaign?

Donald Trump’s Lies, Misogyny And Loyalty Problems On Full Display In New Attack Ads

The anti-Donald Trump attack ads are coming thick and fast on social media from organizations on both sides of the aisle.

Conservative group The Lincoln Project, progressive PAC MeidasTouch and bestselling writer Don Winslow each targeted the president with new supercuts.

The videos, all posted in the 24 hours prior to Tuesday morning, quickly racked up millions of views on social media.

The Lincoln Project, co-founded by conservative attorney George Conway, questioned the loyalty of Trump's inner circle...

No, a cratered economy and an out-of-control pandemic are mortal problems for the Trump campaign. The campaign is over. The Lincoln Project is merely piling on.

Yup. I think Sununu may be going. I know the down ballot GOP candidates will be there. I keep getting invites to it. I'd rather chew off my left arm and have sex with a garbage can than go see Trump.

I luv you so much! Every time I think my day/life couldn't get worse, you say something that makes me laugh. And I really need to laugh once in a while; DP posters give me that, and you make me positively cackle!!

*hugs*

That reminds me. I need to send them more money!

I am set up for auto contribution every week. I don't think there is a more effective anti Trump group in this country. I will keep donating until Trump is walked out of the WH.

I agree. They do damn Trump. The truth hurts worst of all.

The ads definitely throw shade on the POTUS, how's they're perceived by Independents is the question? They're not too harsh for me but I know some fence post sitters that might not like their intensity. Republicans that formerly liked Trump but have since started to dislike his character. They won't vote for Biden but they also might not vote for Trump, depending on far the Dems go in persecuting Pumpkinhead.

I hope so.

Yeah, they're pretty effective with me and I'm a swing voter.

I, partially, agree with this that pandemic & economic situations are harrowing obstacles but with an early vaccine or big diminishment in covid, followed by an economic rebound, his poll numbers could rise and campaign rebound. It's not over till the fat lady sings, even if she's warming up.

Not really. They believe too many of the current GOP politicians need to be voted out because they have enabled Trump at every turn. I agree.

Exactly. The Lincoln Project are people who are trying to break the radical right's grip on the GOP and restore it to a sane and responsible party that operates within the realms of reality and reason again.

Except there are really very, very few swing voters. With 56% of America thinking Trump is doing a bad job and his approval levels just about 40%, if he got all of the "swing voters" (and he won't) he would still lose.

That negative number is really a death knell for the Trump campaign. Its one thing to have low approvals, but having high disaprovals means you really, really have to hate alternative (see 2016)... and few people in America are despised at the level Trump is.

I am not saying the adds are not effective. I am merely saying they aren't going to make the difference, as the difference is already made. The pandemic is out of control and Trump is ignoring it and the economy will not get on the right track until the pandemic is under control. Neither of those are going to happen by election day, and each are going to get worse. Those two things will have cooked Trump's goose.

I think jpn has nailed it in terms of the true purpose (and hopefully effectiveness) of the Lincoln Project:
