the legend of Saint Martin, who gave away half his cloak to a poor man

Should I create some polls again?

"Is Saint Martin completely unknwon in the USA?"
"Is Thomas the Apostle completely unknown in the USA?"
"Is Mary the Mother of Jesus completely unknown in the USA?"

----------------------------

Is Saint Donald of Trump the only saint that is well known in the USA?
And everything and everybody outside the USA may be looked down upon as "paraochial"?

dude there all known here, there isnt a large difference with christians in usa vs europe, ok?

I was told otherweise here. By a very "intelligent" member here.
That Saint Martin is a "parochial German Saint" and not known anywhere outside Germany.

Well, that's obviously wrong.
I'm a non-devout, non-German protestant, and even I've heard of him (just that one cloak story though).

Isn't it about time you get over something that never even happened?

How do you mean: "German Saint?"
Only German and nothing else?
And only known in Germany, as somebody (not me!) said here?

german saints =popular in germany

american saints=popular in america

I am pleased to read your posting!

So you would not say that only some stupid German peasants (like me) have heard of Saint Martin.
And you would not say that only stupid German peasants are stupid enough to think that Saint Martin is known outside Germany as well.
