‘Stone the apostates’: Pastor linked to Ted Cruz says pro-LGBTQ schools should be burned down
On Friday, Christian extremist Pastor Kevin Swanson and his radio co-host called for schools that teach LGBTQ tolerance to be burned down and for the bricks left behind to be used to kill non-Christians.

According to Right Wing Watch, Swanson and co-host Bill Jack were fuming over the fact that public schools in Washington state are now including gender identity issues as part of their comprehensive sex education program for students.

Swanson compared the sex education changes to rape charges that were leveled against an employee of Washington’s Fish and Wildlife Services, saying that exposing children to sex education materials is a crime against God.

“Rape is also against God’s law and I guess it must be against state law; I’m not getting why, though,” Swanson — who in the past has called for the execution of LGBTQ people — said. “Why in the world is a sexual crime against the law in the state of Washington if the other forms of crimes are not against the law in the state of Washington? See, this is confusing to me.”

Swanson called the state’s public schools “whorehouses” and said, “the worst possible abominations are accepted in the state of Washington.”

“We need to burn ’em down,” said Jack.

Swanson said if parents from the 1950s could see what was being taught in schools, they would “want to burn them down.”

“They would burn them down,” Jack said in a musing that sounded like something from the ISIS playbook. “They would tear the bricks out of the walls, they would use the bricks to stone the apostates.”
This is Conservatism at its most basic. If it weren't for our Federal law enforcement system and surveillance, these people would be rampaging across the country with acts of terrorism against people who don't follow their "Christian" way of life.

These are the people we need to be going after, rather than Syrian refugees and Muslims. These are the terrorists who nest in the bigot-friendly rural zones of America.

No, that is NOT conservatism at it's most basic. That is religious fundamentalism at it's most basic.

Religious fundamentalists share many conservative views, but not all conservatives are religious fundamentalists.

You're conflating "Conservatism" with "Right Wing Christianity".

Yeah they overlap here, but it's not accurate to call this "Conservatism".

Just as all Liberals are not Antifa or Atheists ...

I don't even think that pastor is indicative of most right wing Christians. You have to use the word "radical" to describe these types. He is a radical right wing Christian.

What you describe is religious bigotry, nothing more and nothing less.

They have a right to preach their hatred in the abstract.

Should they call for specific actions, such as "Take Zalatrix and stone him," then you can make a charge of a terroristic threat.

I have to admit that the songs taught in class and the Christmas Pageants staged in the public schools I attended in the 60's are no longer tolerated by my local public schools.

I assume that the parents of the 50's were less open minded than those of the 60's.

In that, he's probably accurate in his estimation of their outrage.

The rest is just a fundamentalist voicing his ideas.
