The Belief That Trump Is a Messiah Is Rampant and*Dangerous

he's a cult leader for the easily duped.

Wow. Post number 29 before the first Nazi reference. Getting a little better, guys.
You know, I voted for Trump, but I certainly don't spend every waking moment obsessing about him.
Like some here seem to do..:lamo

Like liberals didn't orgasm over the "Magic Negroe"........ in the words of Bo Snerdley

You mean racist Rush Limbaugh hiding behind his house negro.

{TDS makes people start the most idiotic threads, doesn't 't it?}

LAFFRIOT

Yes, it does. Like when you start threads plagiarizing from The National Review or lying about what information the St. Louis Fed released (or didn't, actually). Devotion to Trump really is a syndrome.

May be if we have a serious discussion. Or do you want to deny that Obama duped people?
Carry on.

Is this thread about Obama, or about someone duping people? The answer to both is no.

Your whataboutism is even stupider than most whataboutisms.

Obama and duping people goes hand in hand.
What you call whataboutism, I call it a reminder that "the other side" was found guilty of their share of hysteria. Now the roles are reversed. It is simply what you get from a two party system. One side is doing the attacking, the other side goes into defense mode.
That's my point. This 24/7 "but Trump" is just as childish as the "but Obama" back in the day.
So why not discuss it for what it is? Bunch of nonsense serving to entertain us while the parties keep themselves in power at our expense.
If you want to argue, you know my thoughts on that. I find all this sad and sadly amusing.

This thread is not about Obama. Did you miss that? It's about Trump, and the idiots who say he was sent here by God. Nobody ever said Obama was sent here by God. So no, it isn't "reversing roles" by any means.

Wow, years later and the Libs are still butthurt over references to their Obamessiah! :lamo:lamo

The Belief That Trump Is a Messiah Is Rampant and Dangerous | Psychology Today

A significant portion of his supporters literally believe the president was an answer to their prayers. He is regarded as something of a messiah, sent by God to protect a Christian nation.

Cue the disciples in 3....2....1
Cute - trying to stifle responses, eh? What are you afraid of? As far as I know, Trump's predecessor was the onle president who was actual called a messiah in public.

Wow, years later and the Libs are still butthurt over references to their Obamessiah! :lamo:lamo

I kind of wish Obama behaved like Trump and liberals behaved like Trump supporters. Obama would say stuff like, "My grandfather was born in Germany." And stuff like "G.M. is opening 6 new plants." He would have rallies where he calls Fox News the enemy of the people and encourage the crowd to boo. He would propose a ban on European immigration. He would hire his Kenyan uncle and other family members to work in the White House. He would insists all the investigations are witch hunts. His campaign manager and personal attorney would be in prison. He would call them all liars. He would refuse to allow anyone in the White House to testify.

Are you really a Trump supporter?
A True Trump Supporter?

I never took you for the type.

well I am agnostic so we can eliminate the last point. and sure, he lies, they all lie. It's what they do

that was....:lamo Obama...Obama...Obama:lamo

the healer of the Ocean....the Nobel winner...the reverb stadium speaker...

Well, i'm surprised to hear you think Obama was the Messiah. I thought you didn't like him, but apparently you do quite a bit.

This is hilarious. Show conservatives a little uncomfortable look in the mirror and it's nothing but whataboutism. Go ahead, i was far from a big fan of Obama, so keep the strawmen coming.

Unless you coun't the current secretary of state....you know, the guy who literally said that God sent Trump to save Israel.

Apparently you haven't read the thread. The butthurt here is all on your sideml.

And if a Dem wins in 2020 (which seems likely), a "significant portion" of Dems will believe that it was in answer to their prayers.

Just as a "significant portion" of voters in 2008 believed that God had ordained that year's presidential winner.

What a fatuous magazine article.

As opposed to the vast majority of the left wing who that God sent Obama to save the world? :lamo

I've never really thought of the GOP as a cult, until now. So I just did a little research asking what do cults have in common. Read a few articles and found this, ten warning signs you might be part of a cult.

I'm curious to hear all the denials from the supporters of the president that they don't fit the profile.

Some groups may not fit the definition of a cult, but may pose potential risks for participants. Here are 10 warning signs of a potentially unsafe group or leader.

• Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability.

• No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry.

• No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget or expenses, such as an independently audited financial statement.

• Unreasonable fear about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions.

• There is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil.

• Former members often relate the same stories of abuse and reflect a similar pattern of grievances.

• There are records, books, news articles, or broadcast reports that document the abuses of the group/leader.

• Followers feel they can never be "good enough".

• The group/leader is always right.

• The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.

Any of this sound even remotely familiar to republicans who support this president?

That is the Hillary Clinton employment agreement.
