The 2018 Major Leage Baseball Thread

Its now getting into November. And was over 100 degrees in LA.

The World Series is in October by tradition. In much of the country October is the best weather month on the calendar.

Juiced. Harper, not the ball.

The Houston Astro pitchers think it's the ball.

Astros Pitchers Think Bryce Harper's Broken Bat HR Was Incredibly Sketchy

Bryce Harper did one of the more incredible things you'll ever see last night, and that's hit a home run despite his bat breaking into two pieces.

It's something we've seen before, but nevertheless it's impressive. But of course, you're going to stumble across some haters and there were pitchers on the Houston Astros who are calling into question the legitimacy of the homer because of juiced baseballs.

Without naming names, I will report that Houston's pitchers were, uh, wondering about the baseballs upon seeing clip of Bryce Harper's broken-bat bomb.

These pitchers names are anonymous, but there's a good chance we know who these guys are. On multiple occasions, Justin Verlander has been outspoken about the baseballs and how they are juiced, and don't you remember Dallas Keuchel's remarks after Game 2 of the World Series?

The balls were screwy in that WS. Pitchers complained that the logo was too slick and Verlander said he couldn't get his slider to work. Hanley Jansen also gave up an unusual (for him) HR in Game 2 so it was even. In the end, that asshole Darvish was tipping his pitches so Houston got the last laugh.

Also it was hotter than hell that day ( I was there) so the balls were jumping.

I will say that if anyone can hit a HR while breaking his bat its probably Harper, Stanton or Bellinger. They have viscous swings.

whoa, didi has been on fire! Still can't believe he only cost the Yankees a relief pitcher!

Didi is currently leading the league in all triple crown categories HR, RBI's & Avg. He is also ahead of every other player
by slugging .828, way ahead of everyone in OPS & WAR. It's an astonishing display of abilities. The only similar set of stats
that I know of was when Williams came back from the Korean war in August of 1953 & hit 13 HR's in less than 100 AB's with
a Batting Average of .407 while slugging over .900. Didi is playing like Williams in his prime, I hope it lasts.

Yankees look like the best team in baseball and WITHOUT Greg dirty Bird!

The Mets released Matt Harvey and the Yankees have no interest in the former phenom. I think the best fit could be the Astros where they could use him as a closer. I see Gerrit Cole and Charlie Morton, they look like completely different pitchers!

Maybe the Nationals take a flyer on him???

The problem with Matt Harvey is his poor attitude.

Ohtani 2 runs over 6 innings today. Thats a quality start

Harvey was ruined by Mets' overuse after Tommy John surgery. Stephen Strasburg was saved by Nats' wise restraint.

No he wasn't.

Harvey is yet another young, good looking athlete with money that should in no way be playing in NY or L.A. His little trip to L.A. to party ON A GAME DAY last week when the Mets were in San Diego was a perfect example of Harvery's love of partying and lack of discipline.

His tumble from grace is all on him.

Exactly.

Also, a motivated pitcher with a good attitude should be able to make the transition from a power pitcher to a finesse/control type pitcher after he has lost his fastball, assuming he's dedicated enough and wants to put in the effort. I'm not seeing that with Harvey

He would not have lost his fastball had he not been overused.

Thats highly debatable if thats true, and even if it is thats water under the bridge now, isnt it?

He still throws 94-95 mph. Problem is he has no control of his pitches. All his pitches he's constantly belt high and right down the middle of the plate. I don't care how hard he throws, if you throw middle-middle Major League hitters will tee off and hit bombs.

Especially if you dont change speeds.

I wonder which team will pick him up now, I think he might still be of value under the right manager/pitching coach.
Or maybe he'll have to accept a minor L. contract

Any of you MLB teams want Grichuk?? You can have him.

The guy is Captain RallyKill

Cardinals traded him...we dont want him back

But losing Molina for a month to 6 weeks is gonna hurt like hell
