Teen Taken at U.S. Border Tells of ‘Icebox’ Cages With 60 Girls

Notice how I didn't say it was your claim. It was a claim that was being discussed in this thread.

no, you posted a lie. here it is for the forum members to see:
... your own posts prove that the claim that she had no options is complete BS.
we will allow them to evaluate the integrity of your posts

It's not a lie as I didn't say you made the claim. I said it was your post that proved that claim wrong. Learn to read.

there was no claim that there were no options. in fact, i recognized that canada may have been a better, tho more distant, option
be advised that there are programs out there to assist one's reading comprehension. let me know if i need to help you identify them

You should reread the thread. Yes another poster did claim she had no options and that is what I was talking about. Your inability to read the thread is not my problem.

The shouldnt be kept in cages. They should be put on a bus and shipped to Canada.

Wouldn't the Amendment to the Constitution prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment prevent that? Taking someone who is used to a warm climate and shipping them to a place that is basically a freezer in Winter is, in my humble opinion, rather cruel.

USA is known to be a safe haven with opportunities; much more so than the variety of second and third world locations you suggested
the significance of the absence of a standing army is the absence of a military presence to dissuade activities from MS13 in costa rica

The mere fact that a nation has a military does not mean the actions of MS13 would be dissuaded. Believe it or not some military officers and enlisted personnel in some impoverished nations are as corrupt as the police forces and politicians in those nations.

If a person really desires asylum they should present themselves at a port of entry instead of entering illegally and then asking for asylum after they are apprehended.

They arent US citizens. and they will adapt. And Canada will LOVE them and accept them, no matter how many of them there are and regardless of whether or not they have families with them. Canada is a bastion of hope for illegal immigrants. Thats where we should send them.

I find the slant of the article interesting, the term “Icebox” is used because the processing center has air conditioning. The headline suggests 60 girls are crammed into a cage, well, it was three area’s with 20 girls in each, the fencing at these processing units are not prison bars or cages.

Lets keep some reality in mind, on average 20,000 (unaccompanied) minors cross the Southern boarder each year, and those counted are just apprehensions. I’m unclear what there parents were thinking of. In some cases they trekked the length of Mexico from central America to reach the US boarder. You can be sure, there wasn’t an air conditioned safe space with three meals a day, healthcare, mattress pad to sleep on and an agency working to get them to relatives or sponsors.

The number of so called “family units” numbers are even greater than the unaccompanied minors at 24,000 and these again are just apprehension Gov figures, most get thru. The agencies responsible have been put in an impossible position unless we go back to catch and release which is an open boarder policy or build massive family centers to house these people.

If I crossed the border illegally I wonder if they would put me in a cage with sixty women. The stuff dreams are made of.

Depends on which direction you crossed. If you crossed illegally into mejico, they would put you in a cage alright, but it’s highly unlikely you would be housed with 60 women. Mejico is ‘unkind’ to illegal immigrants that try to stay in their country.
