Teen sues officer who held him at gunpoint near bus stop

wyoming-teen-lawsuit-1-teen-credit-jackson-hole-news-and-guide.jpg

Picture of him smiling away and saying he was "exhilarated" doesn't help his emotional distress case, does it?

The article says he claimed to be exhilarated when the police arrived. In other words when the good cops showed up to save him from the coward cop who pulled her gun on him because she heard a loud noise. He was exhilarated to not have a coward pointing a gun at him anymore.

The "cops are evil" crowd has a new poster boy.

If Trump - aka New Hitler - had a daughter who was an evil cop, it would be this officer, Imma rite?

:donkeyfla

Are his pants wet?

Why aren't any of you screaming at the Wyoming police?

They are the ones who handcuffed him, they are the ones who search him and his backpack, and they hadn't heard or seen anything.

Those bastards

Teen sues officer who held him at gunpoint near bus stop

A Wyoming teenager is suing an off-duty officer from Colorado who pulled a gun on him as he ran to a bus stop in Jackson.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports 18-year-old Gerardo Becerra filed claims of assault, battery and false imprisonment against Vanessa Schultz in a Wyoming court.

Schultz is a police officer in Colorado and was on vacation when she heard a loud noise and assumed a teenager running nearby had committed a crime. Becerra was running to catch a bus.

The lawsuit claims Schultz detained Becerra, threatened to shoot him and was "exhilarated" when police arrived.

A special prosecutor concluded Schultz shouldn't have pulled her gun, but criminal charges weren't warranted.

COMMENT:-

Someone's college fund is going to get a boost here. It would be interesting to see what sort of insurance coverage Ms. Schultz' police department has with respect to "off duty conduct in a law enforcement setting".

I don't think her department will get involved as she was in a different state and jurisdiction.

Has any article said whether or not she told him she is a police officer? Flashed her department's badge? Her department might have a problem with that.

Really, and yes I know this is a pretty simplistic way of looking at it, but sometimes mistakes can happen, hopefully he is okay and just be grateful an innocent person has not been shot dead.

Call me crazy but I don't think we should have to accept the possibility of being murdered by the police because some coward cop heard a loud noise.

I didn't say that you should accept the possibility of being murdered by the Police, just that in this incident it's very fortunate for all concerned that the situation did not escalate to that.

In a civil lawsuit, they might, since they were responsible for this officer's training.

It doesn't, but I would be surprised if she didn't. She also would have had to identify herself as an officer to the local police. Holding someone at gunpoint on a city street with civilian clothes would be one among many stupid and unsafe things she did here.

Ever have a 200 pound wild hog charge at you from 10 feet away out of the undergrowth? Had my brush gun - double 12 short barrel coach gun. Hit her with both barrels - slug in one, AA in the other. Then got her with a trench art WW2 Japanese bayonet converted to a machete as I tried to hold off me with my other arm (in her mouth) having already taken out my left leg bleeding like a filling a bath tub. She bleed to unconscious before I did. It came down to that. Still had to be medivac-ed out by copter, but those two weapons had saved my life. Fortunately, I could tie off my leg before bleeding out to unconsiousness - and even then needed to get there quick because I still was going to pass out blood depleted plenty quick. Momma hog will go crazy if you come near her piglets - knowing it or not.

YEAH, I "need all that."
None of us have, and neither have you.
This post crosses the bridge from vague reality to pure bull****.

That's good to know.

I also know we agree on one thing - we both would support Trump over the lunatic Joe Biden who said if you hear a loud noise you should fire a couple shotgun blasts off at the noise. Good thing she's not like Joe Biden, huh? Biden would have killed that kid.
Both of you?

The article doesn't say which way he was running. Was he running AT her? Away?
Towards. Ears loaded. Snortin' all the way.

Another example of an overzealous officer rushing to a scene with no idea what is happening and ends up pulling a gun and detaining a kid... trying to get to a bus.

She should be sued.

and IF the kid had just shot someone, she would be hailed a hero

you cant have it both ways

either you want your police officers actually caring, and making a difference, or not caring and not giving a ****

she thought something was amiss....she wanted to check it out...we dont know the exact exchange between the two, but teenager to adult in civvies, he probably told her to screw off

she is authorized to follow up and detain....

and yes, that includes pulling a gun if necessary...but it shouldnt be necessary if our youth was respectful of law enforcement or adults in general

It is hilarious though that his made up story about his badassery involves almost being murdered by a pig. Real tough guy **** there.
Death by Wild Jungle Pig.

Hmmm....Wonder why this particular story hit your radar? Some kid who wasn't hurt, held for a short time....While headlines like this:

A police officer was shot dead in Alabama and authorities are searching for the suspect

Alabama police shooting: An officer was killed and authorities are searching for the suspect - CNN

happen much more frequency these days....Maybe you support what happened in Alabama? Nah, that couldn't be true....could it?
