Tattoos - What's your "god" think about them?

But it is very possible.

Sure, anything's possible but if what you are learning gets past your brain and reaches deep into your heart, your conscience will follow lead...

Yeah, I know about the wiki page. That's not what I was looking for.
I was looking for what each individual thinks.

It appears that the only person here at DP who thinks god cares about tattoos is Elvira.
At the very least, she's the only one who's willing to admit it.

Most others appear to think god doesn't care one way or the other.

Ah...well, as I said in the first place, I think God's got bigger things to worry about. The way I read it, he's bigger on intentions than results...us being incapable of perfection, and all... :)

But I also don't think he cares if folks have a problem with them either, if that makes sense.

I guess I'm saying, in my opinion, it's entirely irrelevant.

Now gimme my money! :) Sorry, I was rambling, needed a snappy finish.

That isn't how you learn. Everything goes through the brain. Sounds more like having an emotional reaction to something rather than a rational approach.

I say God cares about tattoos - I even gave the verse that indicates it. It has something to do with pagan practices.
So, I guess it depends on the purpose of that tattoo. If your motivation for having that tattoo is anything related to paganism, then it's forbidden.

Would God be offended if you tattooed the name of your kid on your arm - I don't know.
Would God be offended if you tattooed His name on your arm as a declaration of your devotion to Him? Maybe not.

Sounds like something an emotionless clod would say...

And back to the insults, I see.

Emotions can also lead to believing things that aren't true. Jim Jones took advantage of that. As did many charismatic dictators. So do TV preachers and TV shopping networks and advertising in general. Appeals to our emotions alone can be very misleading.

Nobody said that and nobody said anything about listening to some wacko preacher...I am talking about reading and studying the Bible and allowing those things reach your heart like Jesus did...spiritual food involves more than just taking in knowledge...to Jesus, spiritual food included acting on God’s direction... Just as our bodies are contented and nourished when we eat a good meal, our hearts are strengthened and our faith is nourished for everlasting life when we act on what we learn by doing God’s will...

"Jesus said to them: “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work." John 4:34

Any words in any book could reach your heart. From the Communist Manifesto to Mein Kampf. Emotions can be misleading..
