...This example is what we are really facing in the upcoming election. It isn't "Trump vs" whatever. IMO it is a choice between liberty and authoritarianism.

Just has the prior generation to mine had to fight the fascist left in both Germany, Japan and the US, as my generation has to also fight the fascist left, and as the next generation has to also fight the fascist left. It is an endless battle and we are always just one generation away from losing and becoming slaves to the fascist left.

If you actually had a clue about how your own government functioned you would come to the realization that the federal government has no constitutional authority, beyond restricting international traffic. The power to deal with pandemics domestically falls to the States. However, neither the federal government nor the States may contravene the US Constitution or infringe on any protected right. In other words, not even declared emergencies can supersede the Supreme Law of the Land.

The important thing to remember in this case is that whenever a democracy falls it is always replaced by a dictatorship. If the US ever falls, half the nation will become slaves - again.
