Supreme Court rules Peace Cross war memorial can stand

If it's on public land.....tear it down. This is not a Christian nation

Yeah, only atheists should be allowed in the military and booted out if any get's religion. (Imagine the savings resulting from virtually eliminating our military this way. There aren't many people who remain atheists when they get into a fire-fight in battle.)

There are too many leftwing loons that want to erase this country's history because they are unsatisfied with it, but you can't change facts.

And yet I am proof that it is certainly not a blanket perspective from the left.

While at the same time they demand more and more and more for themselves from the endless wealth they believe this country got and has for nothing. They think they were born entitled. But in fact USA is rich and powerful because we were a kick-ass country - and the vast majority of foreign ass kicking has been by Christians in our military. Nothing the USA has came for free.

There is no such thing as "free" in real life. "Free" usually is the most expensive of all in the long run.

The unbelievable part is that this actually had to be decided by the Supreme Court.

The outcome was never in question, but shame on those who pushed it this far.

This-the first thing the Justices should have asked these people is

WTF IS YOUR DAMAGE?

They did, and the answer was a bunch of appeals to emotion lacking material harm, which as I know you know, is the burden.

Tim-

The cross is the memorial and it is allowed to stay. Time for you to face the facts.

Great. Then every scotus decision is always correct.

I love it

The damage would be an establishment of religion, and would be unconstitutional.

However, the purpose of this cross had nothing to do with establishing a religion, but to remember the dead. There is a huge difference here, and SCOTUS made the right decision. Just because it looks like a cross doesn't mean that it represents Christianity. Nazis had crosses too, iron ones, and they certainly did not represent Christianity either. The attempt to tear down this monument was moronic and ignorant.

Well, when you are able to cobble together an intelligent reason as to why this ruling is wrong, let me know. Your whining and foot stomping dont count, by the way.

Are you crying? There's no crying here!!!! Lol

It's a Christian symbol on public land. Duh

We have an old memorial cross here in San Diego over which there was a big mess forever.

Pretty sure they sold the ground to a private group to get those who wanted it taken down to shut up.

I could see their point, but never supported it.

It is a war memorial. Honoring those who died in WW2.

I'm sure some non-christians also died.

But I never felt offended by its presence.

But I'm not cool with the ten commandments in a federal building. Prayer in school, etc. Those, IMO, got too far the other way.

Crying??? Obviously you are completely out of intellectual ammo. But that was true before you joined this discussion. I am an atheist and support the Cross and the Constitution. You support neither.

Are you still whining? Get a tissue.

Youre trolling now. Have a good time.

You start off taking a tone with me and you will get it back ten times over. You have no argument.

You are dismissed

As it should have because this thing hasn’t been treated as a memorial for a log time. It’s a dilapidated cross in the middle of what is now a roadway median with the plaque obstructed by landscaping. It would have been better to move it to the private property of someone who understands what a memorial should be.

For a hundred years no one cared or made political hay out of this, until a group of political assholes came along and had to try and force their selfish will upon everyone else. Well they lost, and I hope they rot in Hell. It's disgusting what some people have become. Frankly I think they just wanted to make a name for themselves, and that's it.

Jesus would be proud of your message.

True. RvW was decided that way, with a mostly conservative bench.

A lot of people on both sides really don't understand RvW. If it were to be overturned it doesn't necessarily make abortions illegal. Many of the uneducated on both sides really seem to believe it is an all or nothing thing.

LMAO. It's actually very clear. If people dont read it, or the texts that explain it, there's no reason anyone should respect them.

But my comment was on the judges. Are you saying they didnt understand their decision?
