Students wearing 'MAGA' hats told to leave coffee house

A younger me would consider wearing a MAGA hat at NYU just for the beatdown lulz.

I can sleep well at night because I voted for Gary Johnson lol. I do enjoy trolling a bit too much. I fear an infraction is not far off for me.

I actually have several people in my life that I love and respect who voted for Trump, we don't discuss politics very much though. Or religion lol.

Living where you do I suspect you are the minority.

Trumps not as bad as the media makes him out to be. he got elected then got inline with the typical bull**** we see from prez's. he's still making gaffes and acting the buffoon, but the deck chairs are really in not much a difference than they were before.

I voted johnson, though I though mcafee would have been a better choice to outlive the trump lulz.

I am absolutely in the minority. My biggest gripe with Trump is his petulant teenager behavior and his awful foreign policy. He's reckless as hell. Other than that, he's about the same as any other politician. Makes a bunch of promises to get elected, then forgets most of them.

his antics are amusing.....

What I don't like

I disagree with him on not ending wars. (he promised remember)
I disagree with his view on the war on drugs.
I disagree with his re-instatement of the 1033 program
I disagree with him on his border wall (removing incentive will stop it not a wall).
I think he has no couth and comes off classless way too often.
I disagree with his tax cuts, they don't go nearly far enough.

What I do like.

I like his views on government land grabs
I like his view on vetting people from certain countries
I like his view on oh there was one other thing, I cant remember now.
I love his war on the media, like him or lump him as bad as he is, he's exposed the media for the fraudsters they are.

I disagree with much of what he does and his positions, but get labled a trump lackey because I am not offended he takes two scoops of icecream vs one.

I'm above all people who believe in magic.

I asked WHY. Different question. And please spare me the “all people.” If some dumbass were to be spouting off about Muslims...you would be defending them.

You are incorrect. The bakery wouldn't have baked a custom cake for any gay couple. From what I understand, they had nothing personal against that particular couple - it was gay couples in general, so yes, it was discrimination against an entire group.

You mean like a coffee shop refusing to serve Trump supporters and telling them to leave the premises?

I did watch the video. The woman who was angry at the students kept referring to the gathering as a CLUB. And she told the ones who wanted to participate that could indeed participate if they removed their offensive hats. Why could they not comply with that simple request?

For a couple of reasons. First, she had no authority to make that demand or otherwise dictate what apparel is appropriate for a “club.” Second, one of the hats only had an American flag on it. Why is that offensive? Her role is to manage coffee-slingers not stick her nose in the business of students drinking said coffee.

How is calling out right wingers and getting in their face in protest suppressing their freedom of speech? They can still spout their bigotry and hatred to the high heavens.

Number 1-- it's very disrespectful when someone is minding his/her own business. Number 2 -- she didn't just get his their faces, she demanded they take off part of their apparel or leave. Apparel has been shown in court to be an expression of speech.

The episode is just another fine example of how 'tolerant' the leftists are ( guess what, they are not tolerant in the least bit - in fact, if I'm not mistaken, the political left is responsible for the present state of political tribalism that we are suffering from)

They continue to demand tolerance from everyone for those that their agenda support, and demand intolerance and hostility towards anyone that has a temerity to hold opinions differing from their.

One day, some day, the leftists are bound to come to the conclusion that they themselves are about ass hypocritical as they come, and, hopefully, mend their ways.

Nah, it's not the Left's fault. It's almost everyone's fault--yours included.

Well, if you ask to ask why people who believe in magic are morons....

One only has to look at who was the first to baselessly accuse others of racism, sexism, bigot, homophobia and islamophobia.

One only has to look at who was the first to practice intersectional politics and the politics of divisiveness.

One has to look at who voted for the ***** grabber because he promised to kick out Muslims and Mexicans.

***** grabbing has nothing to do with domestic terrorism.

If you would care to notice, it is criminal Muslims and Mexicans who are being deported, as is most appropriate.

So I'd call that a double fail for you on this post. Care to try again?

And one only has to look at who said "reverse racism," "the war on Christmas," "gays ruining marriage," "the religion of peace strikes again," and "forgetting the white working class" to know who also plays divisive identity politics.

In some cases - yes it is an expression of speech. But it was her club and she enforced the rules for the meeting. you don't like them - find another club or start your own.

I got the impression it was not the American flag she objected to.

Seems to me that these have more of a factual foundation than the other.

I'll grant you that the one that started it is as guilty as the one that keeps it going. No different here, I'd say. But then, the real question is how to make everyone stop it, so as to improve the situation. I'll further admit that this is the part the escapes me and probably also escapes many others, otherwise the accusations we've both observed would have been tamped down, to some extent, already, which they've not.

No. It's refugees and other low hanging fruit who are being deported.

Of course, that you would be clueless on this matter does not come as a surprise to me or anyone else who has read your ill informed nonsense.

Were these people here legally or illegally?
Do there exist laws that these people have violated by being here illegally?

Illegal aliens being deported, federal immigration laws are being enforced. What's your problem with that?

We were told that the focus would be on “bad hombres” not ICE agents lurking in hospital corridors to snatch little girls being wheeled out of surgery.
