No, it should not be removed.
As I've said repeatedly, these statues and monuments are history, and they are art. Most are beautiful, crafted by incredibly talented artists. Put up markers, explaining the context of the works if necessary; move them from public property to museums, exhibit halls, if necessary. But for heaven sake, don't just destroy these beautiful artworks for current, but fleeting, political correctness of any given day, decade, or century.
