Ten days before the FBI filed it's first FISA application on Carter Page, Christopher Steele met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec to discuss the dossier.

Kavalec documented the conversation which included her concerns over Steele's political motives, his contact with WaPo an the NYTs, the obvious inaccuracies contained within the dossier, and his " clients " need to get Steele's information out to the public prior to the 2016 election

She immediately forwarded her notes to a senior FBI official but of-course, the FBI used Steele's information anyway

Here's a link to her notes, which were made public last week

" According to Kevalec's notes, Steele told her of*“a technical/human operation run out of Moscow targeting the election" and acknowledged that he wanted his allegations publicized in advance of the 2016 presidential election.

Steele also told Kevalec that*“payments to those recruited are made out of the Russian Consulate in Miami," according to Kevalec's notes. Kevalec*quickly debunked Steele's assertion, writing in her memo: “It is important to note that there is no Russian " consulate in Miami.”

No wonder why the Democrats are attacking Barr and Trump. They know what's coming

Wow!! The leaders of the FBI disregarded the concerns of a subordinate

Trump would never do that

It seems they knew the material was false but swore it was verified before the FISA court.
Looks like big trouble on the horizon for those involved in the Russian Collusion scandal.

Funny stuff... It's Trump's fault. Smell the fear..... The whole charade is about to crash down.

One reason I sense the New Democratic Party and it's embedded operators are extremely nervous, is the fixation on menial little bits of hate trump rhetoric, and a complete blackout on any reporting of the AG's investigation, or others for that matter.

Consider the BS Pelosi attempted. Family Intervention? What a POS!

She knows her days are numbered because she lost control of her party, and :hitsfan:

I wonder at what point along this journey they decided to bury the esculpatory evidence? They have ruined a lot of lives for nothing but a lie.

It's hysterical that the only ones with fear are Trump and Fox supporters. They're so consumed with fear that Trump's lies and crimes are about to be exposed that they're jumping all over this 'investigation'. Nobody on the left cares one bit about it.

Their mission has nothing to do with the law. It's about "justice". What they mean with that term isn't "equal treatment under the law". What they mean is regulation of outcomes across the globe. This is Kipling's "White Man's Burden" writ large. This is about international leaders who have decided that the only way to global peace and global prosperity is through global government. These people, the "progressives", believe that they are actually sacrificing their interests in an effort to make the world better for everyone. They believe that they are sacrificing beceuse the great unwashed masses don't see the "truth" as clearly as they do and oppose them at every step.

There IS NO RUSSIAN CONSULATE IN MIAMI. Kavalec picked up on this and other obvious false statements immediately, which means the FBI would have done the same had they bothered to verify the information in the dossier.
Obviously they never had any intention of doing that, and iust submitted the dossier in the FISA application

*Nobody on the left cares one bit about it.*

No doubt, the left doesn't want to know the dossier was no more than an uncorroborated political hit piece.

Just curious exactly how many Americans you believe are concerned with Carter Page, or care about surveillance on Carter Page? Or how many Americans even know who he is?

Do you think millions of Americans who didn't vote for Trump will walk into the booth in November of 2020 and vote for him because of this? "Let's see - my choice is Donald Trump or Democrat candidate X. Well, I have to vote for Trump, because.....Carter Page!".

Just very curious about why you think this hurts the Democrats and helps Trump.

We're not consumed with anything. We're not the ones who have spent the last 2 and half years throwing the world's largest collective temper tantrum

I admit, I am looking forward to the release of the IG report and Barr's declassifications

What I don't get is why the Democrats are so against all of this. The Democrats have been telling us for the last 2 years this was a legitimate and legal investigation

Barr's investigation will prove that, right ? And so will him declassifying documents pertaining to the investigation. It will shut Trump and his supporters up for good, right ?

Do you have a reference for that?

Any American who understands that the Carter Page FISA warrant was a back door for the FBI to spy on a Political campaign during the run up to the 2016 election

The FBI received a Title I FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page. This classification allowed the FBI to spy on anyone or any organization Page came into contact with and it applied retroactively

I know TDS sufferers will attempt to down play all of this and pretend it's all a big nothing burger.

You didn't answer the question, and you can dispense with the childish "TDS sufferers".

How many votes do you think will be swayed by anything that comes out of the Carter Page situation?

I couldnt care less about that. I care that the people that orchestrated all this be held accountable for their actions. I really don't want my grandkids growing up in a Banana Republic

This was unprecedented corruption and abuse of power at the highest levels of Fed Govt. As if that wasn't enough, media outlets not only participated in leaking details of the investigation prior to an election, they've spent the last 2 years regurgitating partisan lies and propaganda

Every American regardless of political affiliation should support Barr's investigation

Every American regardless of political affiliation should support Congress's investigations too. Do you?

So you know it won't translate into votes. Let's say it turns out that a few people at the FBI did something inappropriate. Then what? Disband the FBI?

Republicans’ obsession with the Steele dossier, like their obsession with Hillary Clinton, is pathological.

Do you have a reference for that?

What is interesting...and very concerning...is that the FBI submitted an application to the FISA court for a warrant to spy. In their application they say this about Steele:

Capture.webp

https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4614708/Carter-Page-FISA-Application.pdf

They say "the FBI believes Source #1's reporting to be credible".

But now we find out that they had information BEFORE they submitted the application that called Steele's credibility into question.

btw, this application was submitted four times and it was signed by Comey, Yates, McCabe and Rosenstein. Every one of those people knew there were questions about Steele's credibility, yet they each signed an application that states they believe him to be credible.

The Steele dossier doesn't reference any consulate in Miami. It does reference Russian emigres in Miami

On what page does the Dossier reference a Russian consulate in Miami?

They seem to have suddenly gone to ground. Hmm...;)

My question is, when will the mainstream media be forced to cover Spygate?
How much worse can it get? The profession of journalism and a free press as a check of government abuses of power is truly dead.
