SPLC Tracks Declining White Percentage

I think it’s a bit racist but whatever. Can’t stop the change in demographics. I married a Mexican woman so I’m not even ‘helping’.

What I do wonder though is what happens once white people are a minority? Do we get all the special protections now? Do we actually get to address racism against white people?

So whites in America are an oppressed group. Really? That's your argument? Jesus that's as bad as Christians moaning about being discriminated against. They control some ridiculously large percentage of everything, including elected officials, but somehow they're discriminated against. SMH.

In social dynamics, the majority in question is the majority power, not the majority population. For perhaps generations after white people are a population minority they will remain a power majority.

If he's not willing to claim white people are oppressed as a whole via a social construct (racism), he'll equate racism and racial bigotry.

I stand corrected. European and North American nations started out predominantly white but the transfusion of slaves from Africa began to change the ethnic percentages.

First, why should anyone care if the ethnic percentages have begun to change?

Serious question (Sorry if you know this, but another poster was talking about the different species of humans, so I'm just double checking): Are you aware that we are all the same species: Homo Sapiens?

Second, sounds like just deserts, karma, whatever you want to call it.

Where did I say whites were oppressed?

Christians can be discriminated against regardless of what percentage of whatever they ‘control’. And the percentages they ‘control’ are not a justification for discrimination nor to turn a blind eye to the discrimination. I am pretty sure that’s the same retarded logic Nazis use to discriminate against Jews.

That’s the way Communists explain it. I don’t subscribe to such irrationality.

I never claimed nor implied white people are oppressed. Racism exists beyond some imaginary social construct. Racial bigotry is racism.

No, that's the way the academic world explains majority power. And every academic department in the world agrees. There does not exist a concept of majority power based outside social dynamics. It is a social dynamics concept. There is only one definition. There is only one understanding. No one of any education contests it.

Anti intellectualism is pathetic.

Caring about the changing demographics is a natural result of preaching all the power structure dynamics nonsense.

Mark Potok, a senior fellow at the SPLC, has a note posted in his office tracking the non-Hispanic white percentage of the US population by year.

That's a little curious. Does anyone want to comment on this?

This was bandied about a month or three ago with no explanation and instead the insinuation that SPLC was gleefully twirling its mostache and looking forward to the white apocalypse. Its a research organization into social issues: should anyone be surprised it keeps demographic notes for one study or another?

Most likely the numbers are relevant to a decline in white power and its relationship to rising white racial animus and an increase in hate groups, since race relations is one of the SPLC's interests.

Or you tell us what you think they're for...

You know that's not true. You know racism is so much more than an individual talking crap.

I know no such thing. By definition racism is bigotry based on race. I understand some people want to make it more than that because they have a political agenda they are pounding their chest over.

Again. I don’t subscribe to such nonsense. All it does is justify racism against white people because we happen to be a majority.

That’s the way the academic world explains it now after it’s been infected with Communist nonsense.

Many people of education contest it. But Communists always have convenient excuses for ignoring any contestation of what they demand things to be.

If you're gonna sport a dictionary education, you need to at least read and understand the entire definition. Check 2b.

You can't just use a piece of the definition. For example, 3a is "discrimination based on race". Obviously that doesn't work as a definition by itself, it doesn't even include bigotry. Can we have racism without bigotry? Of course not. So 3a doesn't stand on its own. And neither does 1a.

One must be serious about a dictionary education or one is sure to look foolish.

Damn, that sounds a lot like Vancouver, my home town. It's gone from very whitebread when I was a kid (although there were small Japanese/Chinese/Indian populations), to the current 40% born outside Canada. And I agree with you, that makes for a great city. :)
Yep. I love the different foods, people, music, and knowing that with a quick Uber I can be in what almost seems like a different country; and it takes USD!

Besides the great food though, I really liked the cross-cultural dating opportunities. In fact I dated so much, that eventually a really dynamite one came-by that snagged me into giving her my name! But she better keep treating my right, or there's more fish in that pond! :2razz:

Not sure why it's important?

Why did you find it compelling enough to post?

Lol, of course. How would you feel about an avowed anti-hate group keeping track of the declining Palestinian population of Israel?

Hispanic Americans (and other Hispanics) hate Caucasians?

Sources?

That was a lot of words to not say anything.

You’re wrong. Discrimination based on race obviously does work as a definition by itself. And you can have bigotry without racism.

Keep sporting that incomplete definition dictionary education. Real learned.

I don’t support discrimination against anyone based on race. I don’t really care how you choose to perceive that.
