Spel Czech

Spelling errors = uneducated.
The irony in that "logic."

Well one would hope the POTUS at least would know how to use spell checker. But since he doesn't or doesn't want to use it that tells me he is pandering to people who don't care about spelling. Maybe not uneducated, but not the best shining examples of our society either.

His supporters do go on and on about 'elitists'. Somehow they believe Trump is 'anti-elitist'. lol

are they effing up on purpose or just pandering to the base?

President Trump's Worst Spelling Mistakes and Typos

I think people make the same mistakes texting that they do typing a post here at DP plus auto-correct, which bedevils me on my phone. Too often I don't really look and am then appalled too late by what I texted.

So often here I see comma splices (a form of run-on) and confusion between loose/lose, affect/effect, moot/mute, ladder/latter and etc. I don't know why anybody would expect much more from the current Admin; hardly anybody proofreads any more. Let he who is without grammatical sin cast the first stone.;)

Can the person communicate the message effectively, yes/no.
If yes, it's merely a formality than a sin.

Spelling memorization isn't the same thing as intelligence and as WCH put it, comes off as pompous snobbery.
Effectively coming off as pretentious (and often false) intelligence.

My spelling isn't too bad on DP but my grammar and punctuation is just god-awful I know that but I'm not in the white house either

Eh, people post in a hurry. I certainly don't pay close attention to spelling or grammar, unless I notice that the mistake interferes with the intended meaning of a post.

Still, I probably would be putting more effort in if I was President. You know....read it a few times over before hitting "send."

I wish this was the biggest thing we had to worry about with this admin. It's rather....

Anyone spending time in one of them thar re-education campuses can't be trusted. Doncha know.
Real Americans leave skool in the 6th grade....usually after repeating it several times.

All education is liberal brainwashing and should be banned. God bless America. :2usflag:

You, and WCH think correct spelling by the POTUS is 'pompous"?? lol

Wow, just wow.

This man suppose to be looked at as an example of all Americans. And he spells like a moron and you think pointing that is 'pompous'? Obama said 57 states and were still hearing about that from the Right. But you guys excuse every lie and mistake Trump makes.

Trump and his supporters are dragging this country right into the gutter.

If you're looking to other people, you don't know, as an example.
That, to me, says more about you than it does about Trump.

I don't care what nothing mistakes Obama made and I didn't care then.

I think that, generally, grammar-smack is a lame resort. It's also true, though, that you can communicate competency in your writing or, alternatively, suggest incompetency.

People whose writing in more formal circumstances is correct make errors online because there is some lag between the brain and fingers sometimes. I'm just amazed when I'm texting (fast and carelessly sometimes) at what auto-correct produces that I don't notice until I've already hit "Send." I'm not up for a rhetorical analysis of Trump's tweets, LOL, but I'll bet that some of his tweet-errors are due to auto-correct.

Happens to the best of us, and again, let he who is without grammatical sin....

If legal docs are being produced with inexcusable mechanical faults, that's one thing. If you're talking about tweets, though, that's different.

Agreed, more often then not spelling/grammer nazis are just thinly veiled personal attacks and not much else.

Maybe to some sort of degree but in the end they look like they're from Dukes of Hazzard

Speling iz a skil, and bad speling duzn't nessassarilly inducate a laque of intellugince any moore then bad carpintery.

He has said he likes the poorly educated. And he does pander to his uneducated racist base.

Soooooooooooooooo...

Oh, I suppose your referring to Detroit Michigan 'where 37.5% graduate from high school & Mrs. Clinton received 234,871 votes to Trump's
7,682 or 3% of the vote.' Their is an uneducated racist base if I every saw one. 97% of one of the most ignorant voter bases in America
favored Trump's opponent, probably it was even more but some of the brilliant Clinton supporters accidentally pressed the wrong lever
by mistake.

Both my spelling and grammar have improved since I began hanging around here. I have managed to lose some great responses while off fact, spell or grammar checking my post. Get my answer and when I return the post is gone! Have taken to checking before beginning my post. Also, I have loosened up what I ignore as far as others posts.
