Somwonw ask for a "national strategy"?

They haven't gotten it to work yet, so I have no faith.
Define "working"? How do they stop millions of idiots ignoring spacing and masking requirements?

They talk a good game, but deliver little. All I see Trump doing is politics & spinning, with nothing substantive occurring. It's just a snow job.
LOL, I never thought I'd see you pull a "Trump!".

Having similar or better success than our (former?) peer nations.

The irony is that liberals act more like cultist and Conservatives act more like sheep. It reminds me of when Tiger Woods (A black man) was the best golfer in the world and Eminem (A white man) was the best rapper in the world.

Liberals are overly emotional and seek community approval. They suffer from TDS and are easily indoctrinated. They shun those who don't think like them. Conservatives get their direction from one person...Trump! They are not well educated and not capable of differentiating between whats fake and real on Youtube.

I'm probably not gonna get a lot of likes on this post.

So, in other words, we are screwed.....took ya long enough to finally have your epiphany, but better late than never. So, hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. Fun isn't it....

Enforce it:
$200: First Offense
$400: Second Offence
$800 and 30 days in the county jail (where they will get their immunity) Third Offense
You will be surprised how many will mask up...…….

"Peer nations"? A nebulous concept at best. Which nations comprise the same geographic size, population, diversity, tradition of individuality, or political nonsense? Which "peer nations" has the wide open expanses of Montana and multiple jam pack million-plus populated areas?

That may be coming. Some of our politicians are talking about transitioning from "education" to enforcement. I hate to see that but I would really like to see the result of some hard-core, bite-the-bullet mask and social distancing adherence. Just a month or six-weeks; we just need a data point to PROVE to the hard core "I gotta right! fools".

We tried the Leave it up to the People They will do the right thing experiment here in Texas and blew it. It forced the Governor to insist we wear them with businesses making it a no mask no service mandate, our rates of infections are starting to drop, but unfortunately we are still seeing too many hospitalizations and setting records with deaths.
To me this needs to be addressed at a National level, everyone doing their own thing is a failure, one state gets it under control but re-catches it because the state next door is a mess. This nonsense needs to stop or far too many people will end up having life long health issues or die needlessly.

Dr. Birx lays it out pretty well in this interview

Direct communications with governors, and tailored recommendations. Sounds like a great process.

yes its a step. One that any decently devised national strategy, say like the one trump threw in the garbage, would both demand and detail. IOW, a day late and a 150k Americans short.

But progress none the less.

What ever happened to Kushner's national testing plans?

The best time to have a national strategy for dealing with a pandemic is before it starts.
Today is the second best time to have a national strategy for dealing with a pandemic, though I s'pose.

:2dancing:
Good to finally have one.

YAY! Team Trump!
:2dancing:
woohoo!

Apparently it's been going on for some time.

In the fight against COVID we're all "Team Trump" :2dancing:

We're doing over 800,000 tests a day with a goal of getting up to a million per day. Any other questions?

That's similar to what I've seen here in California. Summertime and beaches, family gatherings, and tourist meccas just isn't working as well as we'd hope. The governor rolled back a lot of his "phase three" openings. Closed bars, indoor malls, gyms, theaters, barbers and hair salons, etc. in about 2/3s of counts. He allows outdoor dining, gyms and haircutting but not more extensive hair treatments.

That can never be enacted. It will provoke the peaceful rioters and be responsible for countless acts of violence by them. We musnt anger them by restricting their freedoms. Or do you propose to all enforce your draconian suggestions on everyone except them?

Less than two weeks ago, six months in....... Coronavirus: Trump says U.S. '''in the process''' of crafting strategy

Trump says U.S. ‘in the process’ of crafting coronavirus strategy that has ‘developed as we go along’

I think you are one of the ‘marks!’
I think you're one of the Trump fools. Look at what is actually going on, as reported by Birx and Fauci. Coordinating with states, helping them devise customized plans of attack. Fauci says we're doing everything possible. There's a good chance we'll have a vaccine by the end of the year. ****'s happening at a dizzying pace, strategies have to respond. That's what Trump, in his awkward syntax is trying to say.

"Make the governors deal with it and bid against each other for supplies," isn't exactly the same thing as a national strategy per se.

ymmv

.......because the response has been working out so well, up to this point....
True that, though the exceptions have been the source of most of the bad news.

Democrats want a one size fits New York plan. Shut down America, ruin the economy, get Joe elected and to hell with the consequences.
Case in point. If it were not for the OMB cult, Cuomo would be known as the massive failure he is. But, they want to transfer all blame to Trump, so Cuomo skates.

Nor is it what's happening. I hear Cuomo used all 800 of those 40,000 ventilators he demanded and Trump got for him. And about 10 beds on the 800-bed hospital ship sent to help NYC.

Don't you all trust the experts?

I just think its telling how they have been trying to shame everyone for not listening to the experts and following the science until it is inconvenient to their political agenda. It shows how insincere they are about their motives.
Its just like how they rake Trump over the coals for not doing more earlier but when its pointed out that the people they are telling us to blindly follow now were completely wrong then, they excuse it by saying that these experts are learning, the science is evolving, and they are doing the best they can in a real time situtation. Funny how they don't give Trump the same lattitude. Instead they want to play monday morning QB and judge him in hindsight.

Beats having to close down completely, now if the rest of the Nation can learn, the Midwest next.

Nope, but maybe some older people that should know better would be a better starting point, you know, set an example and all.
