Sir Elton John retiring

It says it is a three year long tour. I think I will believe he is retired when he actually does. I love his work, though.

I should have noted a year long USA retirement tour

Elton John is truly a national treasure and one qualifying as legendary. But I cannot think about him without thinking about his trademark "Candle in the Wind." Just seeing this thread put it in my head.

I am not a big fan but I recognize talent when I see it and this guy is one of the most important performers in modern history. His rewriting Candle in the Wind and then playing it live for the funeral of his dear friend, Princess Di, has to be one of the great moments in rock history. that alone was worth a knighthood.

How old is he?

The guy could rock it too...Bitch is Back, Saturday Night is Alright for Fighting...

The entire first month and a half of that tour is within driving distance for me. Definitely going to get to one of those shows. Never seen Sir Elton before and have always wanted to.

He's 71, according to the article.

For many reasons, I am convinced that this "retirement" idea is the work of new hubby David Furnish.
And no, that's not a statement of support. Furnish is perhaps the worst thing to ever happen to Elton John.
I'm sure Sir Elton believes that he loves David, I'm sure that he believes David knows best.

I'm also just as sure that all of it, and everything Sir Elton has done to EVERY SINGLE PERSON he has known his entire life in the last three years has been due to the actions of David Furnish.

If any of you ARE followers of Sir Elton and his career, and you too have noticed some untoward behavior and some incredibly cruel things happening in the EJ camp, then you know I'm not talking in a cavalier manner and you probably have some clue as to what I am referring to.
Elton John's behavior has completely changed in the last three years and I am not talking non compus mentus either. I suspect Elton has ALL of his marbles.

If none of this makes sense, feel free to ask.
I know a thing or two because I've seen a thing or two.

Lord I miss Daniel, oh I miss him so much....

Fantastic performer, beautiful song.
