He said for years that he had evidence Trump colluded w/ Russia... After several investigations including the LONG Mueller debacle.. we found out that Schiff is dishonest as hell

but nothing happened.

Why didn't the Rs file charges against him?

well, there is that rule in... I guess both House and Senate that Congress people can say whatever and are immune from slander prosecutions.. I don't think it should be absolute immunity

anyway..

if an impeachment inquiry is based on lies and distortions... maybe there should be some structural change done in the system so that said fake impeachment doesn't go anywhere

I mean, something has to be done. this is wasting an awful lot of people's time...

most people watching this farce stopped watching a long time ago... I stopped more or less... now interested in Rs

Schiff is an excellent speaker and a formidable prosecutor. He presented his case to history, and history will remember how the Republican Party tried moving the country toward fascism. Their legacy is tarnished for generations.

holy crap. a trump fanboy talking about people lying.

wow.

Unless the House takes action against him, there's nothing to be done...except the voters telling him to take a hike when he comes up for reelection. That's not likely to happen.

But this isn't the first time we've seen politicians lie. Dingy Harry outright lied on the Senate floor and later, when his lie was revealed, all he had to say was "Well, it worked, didn't it?"

Yes, all liars should be held accountable. Why do you limit it to Congress and not the White House? Do you agree Trump is a lying, draft-dodging coward and serial adulterer? If not, I have evidence....but first I want to see you deny it and express your undying loyalty to Herr Trump.

A Trump supporter complaining about anyone a liar is like a drug addict high on crack cocaine complaining about someone taking marijuana edibles. :lamo

You know, for all the times that Republicans have accused Schiff of being a liar, there sure has been a dearth of evidence of that. You'd think they could have come up with a couple examples by now.

I asked the same question exactly one month ago:

Schiff is going to get a President Medal of Freedom for his great work in about 18 months.

I hate yo say this but Republicans are notorious for acting outraged over things but never doing anything about it. For instance what happened to grassely who was gonna get to the bottom of who leaked Blassey Fords letter? Thats a crime and he vowed to investigate and did nothing. I really cant blame the Democrats for continuing to do things that they get free passes on.
If your expecting the Republicans to do anything about Schiff, i have a bridge in brooklyn id like to sell you.
Dont count on the Republicans to hold anyone accountable. They never do. The only this will ever stop is by voting the offenders out. I dont see much hope in that happening either, not in todays partisan divide among the electorate. Schiff and Grassley will both be easily re-elected if they run. They have everyone convinced that they need to support their above all else.

When members of Congress speak in their official capacity for official business, they should first be required to be placed under oath.

That certainly should have applied overall to all members of the prosecution and defense teams. Imagine if they could not lie under penalty of perjury? Then this might provide some relevant and admissible factual information. :2razz:

All Federal officers take an oath before assuming office. This applies from the President and his cabinet over to the Congress.

Lawyers also take an oath and, yes, they can not only penalized for perjury but for suborning perjury. Why do you think Trump doesn't want to testify and why he is blocking so many of his staff from testifying? Because perjury is a crime....and because his lawyers told him it would be very, very bad for Trump if he let them testify.

I’m extremely confident the President will be acquitted, with that, there definitely should be consequences for Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi and others for this purely partisan dog and pony show. In my opinion, any person that is honest with themselves and didn’t fall prey to the barrage of half truths, carefully selected narratives out of context and out right lies knows this in their heart.

I do wish folks across the country were a bit more knowledgeable with the political games played in DC, because this sure is one of the biggest attempted.

If what happened within a few hours on Saturday is an indication of what the presidents legal team has in store for the house managers they are in deep trouble, possibly to the point there may very well be consequences.
