Reliably...as bad as some of the other anti-gun peoples arguments are, you can always be counted on to drag THAT ridiculous meme into every gun conversation.

:lamo

that argument has become the black knight of the anti gun movement. It has been chopped up and hacked apart so many times, its only recourse is to hope that the pro gun advocates slip on all the blood.

It's kind of funny that you think this is a good argument. As I point out to him radioactive isotopes put people in danger simply by a being in proximity to them. I carry a gun on my person almost everywhere I go. I've never gotten any form of radiation sickness from it.

When I make that point he says it's not a good point because... No reason. Probably because it destroys his argument.

Well there's always the gold shielding. :)

It appears most people believe shall not be infringed means the government can restrict some arms

The last four words in the 2nd Amendment are pretty clear (to me).

However, it seems there are other possible interpretations depending on one's political views.

What do the words 'Shall not be infringed' mean?

1) Shall not be infringed (ever).

2) Shall be infringed only when absolutely necessary for safety.

3) Shall be infringed if more than 51% of Americans agree to infringement(s).

4) Shall be infringed if ordered by the President (Executive Order).

It means what the Supreme Court says it means in the context of the law they are ruling on.

It's pretty vague, no matter how hard the gun lovers pretend it is not, the entire amendment is pretty vague, like most of them. Leaving open room for interpretation. Ironically pro gun people like pointing to 2nd and saying "shall not be infringed" as their entire argument against there being no gun control at all, but conveniently ignore well regulated aspect of it

What arms specifically is to be discussed?
Arms is a wide open term.
Can mean a knife, a bomb, a tank, a aircraft carrier, etc.

It was bantered about with the term, well regulated militia. So, what context is 'arms' referred to?
The same arms a well regulated militia needs? To combat a gov't foreign or internal?

I agree that the term 'arms' is ambiguous.

Clearly, the Founders meant firearms, and should have used that term.

And clearly, the founders meant for the People's right to keep and bear firearms should not be infringed:

“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms!” - Thomas Jefferson

No you think it's hilarious because you *think* the education is bad. I came out of it just fine. So did many people.

I didn't make that you tube video.

Take it up with him and ask why so many of those technical visas are issued.

Dr. Michio Kaku is a well known author. I've read several of his books. And I am not going to watch with messed up subtitles.

I could invite him to my public school and let him see for himself. I took AP classes. The teachers were excellent.

Hopefully that's clearer.

You can ask my friend who is a teacher.

Someone better to ask would be a recruiter for a US hi-technology company.

Did you watch the second video ?

Does your friend share Kaku's views on hi-tech education in the USA ?

Yes. He's talking about education in science and technology, not history and other subjects.
