If someone would adopt a Dreamer, would that stop ICE from deporting them and would it give them American citizenship? Just a thought and a question.

You want some legal advice?

Don't ask for legal advice from a forum like this.

Talk to a real lawyer, or use a legal website (after reading the "about" information so you know who they are, what type of law they practice, etc.).

Sounds like you need either an immigration lawyer or a family lawyer...or someone who practices both.

Talk to an immigration lawyer.

As you might expect, they probably won't be too pricey....

Depends on how they entered. For both adoptions and marriages, if the illegal immigrant entered the US legally but then just overstayed their visa, they can apply to adjust their status without leaving the US. If they entered illegally they still have to leave the US and apply through a consulate.

But a lot of things are still up in the air on DACA folks. I am not sure I would risk leaving if I was them.

Again, I am not talking about doing this, the thought just came to me and I wondered whether it was legal or not. I have enough trouble with my own two children.
