You know, it's sort of funny though. Conservatives shout "victim mentality" at black people who for centuries have been mostly unable to rise up out of relative poverty due not only to racism, but an economic policy that allows the wealthy and upper middle class to succeed while treating the poor working class as an expense.
More recently, the white working class and rural communities have been rendered largely non-competitive by growing technology and outsourcing, and have found themselves falling into similar economic and social conditions to what the black community has suffered for generations. They go absolutely nuts, becoming the core of the Trump base, blaming immigrants and drugs and the liberal elite for their plight, instead of blaming their own politicians for enacting policies that benefit the wealthy at the expense of the working class and education.
Conservatives may be more willing to do something about it, but so far, they have not demonstrated any aptitude to recognize the real reasons for their situation. In fact, they seem to be passionately doubling-down on the same anti-science, anti-education, and anti-competitive policies that have put them in the position they are in. IMO, that makes them more dangerous, not less so.
