Russians Helping Trump Blame the Shutdown on Democrats

Russian autocrats, the President's natural allies, are helping him out once again. This must be gratifying to Trump's supporters at our forum.

the shutdown was caused by Senator Schumer adding DACA to the budget process. DACA has nothing whatsoever to due with funding the government. What we see here is an exact replay of what the Republicans did in 2013 with the debt ceiling by adding Obamacare to that mix. Obamacare had nothing to do whatsoever with the debt ceiling. In plain English, Cruz and the GOP played partisan political games with the debt ceiling back in 2013, Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are playing partisan political games with the budget process.

Will the public view this as I do, I don't know. But I blamed the GOP back in 2013 and today I blame the democrats. when it comes to the budge, money issues, funding etc. should be all that is considered. So in my mind, this is the Chuck Schumer shutdown. Nothing more, nothing less. If Schumer and company had shutdown the government over a spending/funding issue, that I could understand and depending on what the funding issue was, even support him and the democrats. I can't support any party adding something that doesn't belong to the process for partisan political gains in their search for votes. Each party ought to put the country first, not their party which is what the GOP did back in 2013 and the Democrats are doing in 2018.

I think shutting down the government is always a bad move so I'm not going to go on a limb and defend Dems too much here...but...

DACA is something Republican and Trump claim to want. It's something they were close to having a deal for. It's a realistic provision to include.

Repealling Obamacare is closer to Dems shutting down the government unless a repeal of the tax cut occurs...a significant key legislation of one of the parties.

As I said, Dems falling on their sword over DACA is not what I'd want the party to do...I think they could just pass another short term resolution rather than pulling the trigger on a shutdown, but the two are very different.

Didn't twitter shutdown those "russian backed" twitter accounts? If so then how is it that this group "Alliance for Securing Democracy" is able to follow them? And how do they know the ones that they are watching are "Russian backed"? Is Twitter giving them private info that makes it possible for them to track accounts IP addy's?

And we still have the mentally delusional hardcore Trump apologists denying that Russia even did anything wrong in the last election. One goes as far as to claim it was just WORDS and words mean nothing in an election so we should not even investigate the Russian interference.

This latest report shows that the Russians are still trying to help their boy Trump and Americans should be outraged and do the legal equal of picking up the torches and pitchforks and storm the castle and burn the monster before it wreaks more havoc on the countryside.

I suppose it all depends on what is in the eye of the beholder. I view it as adding something that didn't or doesn't belong to either the debt ceiling or the budget process. Regardless, however the electorate view whose at fault here, I don't think that will matter at all 10 months from now when the midterms comes. Americans have very short memories and this will be ancient history to most.

Having lived through all the government shutdowns, I really don't view them as a big thing. It's just something each party wants to use to blame the other in their search for votes.

It's funny how we have the worst relationship with Russia since the Cold War and yet liberals keep on trying to claim that Trump and Russia are colluding with each other. The fact is, Russia is trying to undermine our democracy by doing all sorts of things to make Americans think democracy sucks and they are doing exceedingly well at it.

Greetings, Pero. :2wave:

:agree: that DACA should not be a part of any bill that involves funding to keep the government running! Immigration is one problem, raising the debt ceiling to keep the government running is quite another!

Regardless, those "children" being discussed here have been adults for years IF adulthood still means 21 years of age or older to most people, and I haven't heard otherwise, so my thought on this is that since they are adults now, but they are still here illegally, why should a special category be made just for them so they are allowed to stay with no problem, while there are people who have followed our laws and become legal citizens in the same time period! It's only fair that everyone be required to follow the same laws in America, or has that somehow changed?

I think so. At some time in the past we prided ourselves as being a nation of laws. That isn't the case anymore. You have dealing with immigration sanctuary cities and states which flaunt this nations laws. Flaunt the laws with an in your face attitude. Another word comes to mind, nullification.

That is just with immigration. Now today many states also nullify not only federal immigration laws, but drug laws such as dealing with marijuana. There are probably lots more examples of states, cities, local communities nullifying federal law. I have come to the conclusion that America being a nation of laws is a bunch of baloney. It is just a nice sounding slogan with no teeth.

This is some batsh*t crazy stuff right here.

Russians under the bed!
Russians in my head!
Believe that the Czar in the luxury car
Rules the president that we dread!

We ain't crazy, no!
Our reasoning it ain't po'!
Facts we don't got, conspiracies a lot
Taking that Soros dough.

Lol, I guess I am now considered a Russian spy. I was trolling Schumer and other Democrats with the #SchumerShutdown tag on Twitter last night.

Russians might as well
Be under Trump’s bed
He’s their own man instead
Of ours, just a shell
Of what he ought to be,
A president for you and me.

"Alliance for Securing Democracy" is double speak. Should read, "Alliance for Securing the Establishment hold on Democracy"
