The right is very proud of Rush Limbaugh having received the Medal of Freedom at the SOTU address.

Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday suggested former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg wouldn't look masculine standing next to "Mr. Man" President Trump on a presidential debate stage because he is an openly gay married man.

Democrats are “sitting there, and they’re looking at Mayor Pete, a 37-year-old gay guy,” Limbaugh told his radio show listeners while discussing what he perceives as a weak Democratic field. “And they’re saying, 'OK, how’s this gonna look, a 37-year-old gay guy kissing his husband onstage next to Mr. Man Donald Trump? What’s gonna happen there?'"

I have a message for Rush Limbaugh. Most people that have been diagnosed with metastatic cancer, generally they believe they're facing a judgement, not with any man but with God at the end of their days.

Freedom and humanity just called, they want their medal back.

Is he upset that Buttigieg has only been married once and is in a committed, loving relationship?

"Mr. Man" himself, catch me I am about to swoon.

Limbaugh is saying Mayor Pete wouldn't compete with Trump on the debate stage because some folks are prejudiced against gay people or married-gay people.
By the same token, IMO, Trump couldn't compete with Mayor Pete on the debate stage because some people have preconceived notions about Trump.

This is what is wrong with today's American politics, IMO: Too much rhetoric (from both Rush and anti-Trumpers) and too little substance in politics.
EDIT: Yes. Even Limbaugh is more concerned with feelings than facts.

No. He isn't saying some people are prejudiced against gay people. He is perpetuating that prejudice as an argument against a candidate.
Medal of Freedumb, fo' shizzle.

He is addressing the obvious. Most don't play into the political correctness you enjoy. They just tell it like it is.

What was it he said that was so horrible? How's it going to look to have a presidential candidate kissing another man on stage?

Yeah, I wonder that myself. You think the country is ready for the first (first lady) being a man married to another man? Not to mention how are leaders of countries who kill, jail, and torture gays going to receive a gay president of the US?

Running from the obvious questions just to be more woke doesn't accomplish anything other than sticking your head in the sand.

Rush is dying, so he is not a player anymore.

What else do you expect from Rush Limbaugh? Unfortunately, there's plenty of people voting for Trump that feel the same. It's not like homophobia died after gay marriage was legalized.

Limbaugh assuredly believes but there is no doubt his main goal is to fire up his listening audience.

Preconceived notions of Trump? There is just way too much substance out there for the notions about Trump to be "preconceived."

Just one tiny example:

Donald Trump's Foundation. This was supposed to be a charity. What it was in fact was basically a criminal enterprise designed to steal money from donors who thought their money was going to things like veteran's causes. Instead, they went to such things as paying Trump's debts, buying portraits for his hotels, and funding his campaign. Due to his criminal behavior, if Trump ever joins a charity board — or starts a new charity of his own — the charity must fill a majority of board seats with people who have no relationship to Trump. It also must hire a qualified attorney, submit to audits and agree never to pay Trump or his company for any services.*Because President Trump has proved that he can't be trusted with other people's money.
Meanwhile his children, who were officers of the foundation, all had to go to mandatory training on how not to be a corrupt lying thief like their dad.

I mean, for people not to have "notions" about Trump that are founded in rock-solid substance, they'd have had to have been asleep for the last decade or so. Or watch Fox "News," which is kind of the same thing.

Don't get too rhetorical.

Pete turned 38 last month. I consider Rush a political comedian, more beholden to talking points and alternative facts than truth and accuracy.

Pete Buttigieg/Date of birth
January 19, 1982
age 38 years

He is, and always has been a pig.

I won't miss him.

Its a dying generation, and its taking its hate with it to the grave. Good riddance.

Tweety doesn't look "manly." He looks like a pumpkin wearing a squirrel pelt.
