Royal Wedding? Who F'n Cares????

I love that type of humor too. Check out 'Allo 'Allo!' also if you ever have some free time. (Another British sitcom set during WW2 in France.) It's hilarious too.

Thank you. I wrote it down in my "internet Notes' book.
There are some really good jewels to be seen.
I hear on one of the networks they are starting a BritTV channel.
I hope i can get reruns of Are You Being Served, and Absolutely Fabulous.
I found a DVD of AF and attempted to watch it with my wife.
She thought it was stupid and boring.
Oh, well, sometimes opposites attract.
As long as she keeps that world class bum, we are good.

Please explain to me why anyone cares even the slightest about the "royal wedding".

Especially those people who are completely NOT connected to England in any way.

Why is it on my local Philadelphia news every single day for the past month?

Who cares?

Do you care? If so, why?

No care I.

(Star Trek: TOS reference)

AT ALL

Look, I get that the whole world is absolutely STARVING for a "feel good happy romantic" news story that truly distracts from everyday life. I get that.

But seriously...

THANK DOG IT'S OVER!!!!

I enjoy English humor very much. Thank you, I will do that.
Right now, on NETFLIX, I am watching a very cute sitcom called "Dad's Army".
About a small town on the coast on England that needs to get up and start their own Home Guard unit to oppose the Nazi invasion and paratroopers.
Really cute.

Me too. We've been binge watching pretty much every British comedy we can find on Netflix lately. Recently saw The Inbetweeners which we enjoyed, especially since the main character is pretty much a dead ringer for me in my high school years, even down to carrying a briefcase to school - I was a huge nerd in HS despite being a starter on the football team. We just finished Absolutely Fabulous which we also really enjoyed. Dad's Army is on the watch list, will start it after finishing what we're watching now.

Also into British cooking show. If you like those the Great British Bakeoff is good. There's also one, who's name I can't remember that was a competition where each team was a bunch of family members. That was one season long (so far) and also pretty good.

Same. And then rewatched it over and over on the news.

PHG seems soooo happy.

I loved reading up (yet again) on the tiara choices and liked the one chosen. Maybe the Queen will gift her with it. That huge center diamond setting can also be detached as a broach.

So what did you think of Amal Clooney's dress?

Only someone as graceful and glamorous as Amal Clooney can pull off a mustard colored dress, with a hat to match.

The hat and dress were beautiful (I thought the gold shoes and bag were tacky for daytime wear), and she has been acclaimed (by somebody) as "best-dressed," but I think the "marigold" was maybe a little "competitive" and that Kate did it right, downplaying and blending in. (Of course, she was promptly slammed for upstaging the bride by wearing white when the coat-dress was actually a pale yellow. Ha, you can't win!)

I heard it was the third time she’d worn it. They were blasting her for that, too lol.

People enjoy watching the glam of a royal wedding. Plus it's a major political event. The Royal Family still has a lot of power. Most Commonwealth countries are constitutional monarchies... meaning they are independent but technically the Crown could reclaim ruler ship at any time they choose. For example, the Queen technically still rules Canada. Parliament here has been loaned power by her. The Prime Minister can't enter office until he bows before her and she declares him her power in absentia. It's kind of crazy.

William is the future king and his offspring the future rulers of the Commonwealth. The wedding isn't just about pomp, but the rulers of nations.

But yeah... it's annoying how they spam us with it 24/7.

Henry will always be a prince. But now he's got a cool sexy American bride.

What annoys me more than people caring is that the taxpayers pay for all that while the cops are trying to relocate homeless people away from the location so they are not seen on TV.
