Roger Goodell tells NFL owners ‘everyone should stand for the national anthem’

It didn’t matter how these players chose to protest, Fox News level conservatives would have shot them down anyway.

They risked their entire careers to say what they had to say and made America notice, that’s more than most of their detractors have ever risked for what they believe.

And all the while much of white conservative America would rather attack them at face value than understand why they’re doing what they do.

They made America notice they're a buncha disrespectful little pricks.

They did more to hurt their cause than to help it.

People need to stop spewing their crap about white conservatives being the ones that are solely offended by the flag/anthem protests.

68% of Americans thinks it's wrong.

That's racist, chief.

/sarcasm

It's respecting those people to exercise the rights they supposedly fought and died for.

What about our right to call them jerkoffs? We have to surrender our rights because you agree with those jerkoffs?

This is a perfect example of how Liberals support free speech, as long as it's something they agree with.

If it isn't, they're all like, "**** your rights!"

NFL's Goodell wants players to stand for anthem | The Kansas City Star

I guess the kneeling business, is not good for business. I guess the old saying that "money talks and bull**** walks" holds true. Looks like Kaepernick won't be getting a football job.

It should have never gotten this far in the first place. The owners were trying to burn the candle at both ends. They should have demanded respect for the flag, the country, and the anthem right from the get go. I fully encourage those still wanting to protest to do so and then we can purge the nfl of players who don't respect our country. They can join Kaepernick on the unemployment line or they can find a job up in Canada. Hope they like the cold.

How quick do you think Kraft would fire Tom Brady if he knelt?

What about it? You're free to call them anything you'd like. Why does that simple fact confuse you so?

No, it's not an example of that.
If it isn't, they're all like, "**** your rights!"

No, they're not.

You should really try and be less emotional. Letting things get you so upset isn't helping.

I sure do remember the trippin' that went on when Tim Tebo excercised his right to religious expression.

All we see from the Left is contempt at the folks who excercise their 1st Amendment right to call them jerkoffs.

None of the usual schtick from the Left about how "free speech doesn't mean free from concequences".

This is a great example of the Liberal double standard. If it weren't for a double standard, Liberals wouldn't have any standards at all.

No, that's all you see. That's not all any rational adult sees.

That's irrelevant to anything I've posted.

It IS easy to dismiss them as morons because they treat this like it is a problem for the nation. It isn't. It is a state and local one. Period. And trying to act like it is a national problem is a ****ing joke. And that is what they have done.

So you're moving the goal posts, and you're calling people morons because you don't agree with their cause or how they are going about addressing it. There are many things that are primarily state and local but that are made national issues - abortion, gun control are two big ones. And if they believer the problem with police and their relationship with the black population involves at least several major cities, then almost by definition it's also a "national" problem.

Bottom line is you're digging for ways to be offended and label them "morons." It's fine to disagree, but I don't see the advantage in labeling people morons just because they aren't using the tactics you PREFER, when what you prefer isn't the only viable option.

First of all, Tom Brady hasn't been kneeling that I know of. Second of all, the owners are getting together and formulating a policy that everyone will have to follow. Everyone will be expected to toe the line, including Tom Brady. It won't be an option. If you've noticed, the huge majority of those who do not stand during the anthem are losing players on losing teams. They aren't trying to raise awareness of injustice, they are trying to change the subject from their bad play and their team's bad play.

I know and work with plenty of military that don't agree with their protesting. You saying NFL player sacrificed more then them?

Its all just talk

Mueller investigating Trump is all just talk.

Here is some more talk

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said he "100 percent" supports his players' decision to kneel during the national anthem. At least seven of them did, joined by more than a dozen Jacksonville Jaguars, before the teams played at Wembley Stadium in London.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who has been a strong backer of the president, expressed "deep disappointment" with Trump and said politicians could learn much from the unifying spirit of a competitive, team-oriented enterprise like football.
"Our players are intelligent, thoughtful, and care deeply about our community and I support their right to peacefully affect social change and raise awareness in a manner that they feel is most impactful," Kraft said in a statement.

Again, talking about OLD news.

I am labeling them as morons because they are not using the proper channels to handle their problems. Any complaint until then is just noise. Especially when these guys don't Care about the other side. They don't want to learn about the job. Maybe if we were talking Shaquille O'Neil. Someone who is active in the community and is even a police officer. But we aren't. These guys could go into their communities and learn from police and improve live

There's a ****load of irony in that statement.

They were morons for disrepecting the Star Spangled Banner and honoring God Save The Queen.

Slavery was started in America under The Union Jack and lasted longer under The Union Jack (160 years) than it did under The Stars and Stripes.

White conservatives are snowflakes, you can’t really blame them for being triggered by all this.

I agree, you can't blame them. They're having PTSD flashbacks to when black people were allowed to vote and go to school with white people. Must be horrible for them!

That's nice. This is not about 200 years ago
