Roberts sworn in to preside over Trump impeachment trial

Trump has been openly committing crimes unbefitting a president since the campaign. Early calling for - and Trumps ultimate impeachment weren't motivated by political partisanship, but rather, dictated by our constitution and the rule of law.

TRUTH.

:2wave:

It amazes me, constantly, that these Trumpeteers try to convince anyone, especially themselves, that "Trump has committed no crimes" or "there's no evidence." Anyone who spouts such unmitigated BS can't be taken seriously. That is the biggest problem here. You have 30% of the voters who couldn't care less about facts. What a great "base" to rely upon.

. Those "rookies" didn't get elected until Trump had been in office two years. When you start trying to disparage people, you ought to at least try to... Oh nevermind. I know you'll never try.
In fact are you not trying to 'disparage' me here? But you can enjoy your moment in the sun because you are quite right. The move to impeach, or discredit, Trump began well before he ever became president but the Squad came along later, though singing the same tune.
Let me ask seriously... Do you really think that Trump has any sense of honor? Is that really the criteria you want to hang your hat on?
Honor? I really don't know, any more than I know whether you have any honor or not. What you may consider 'honorable' may differ from mine. I certainly don't find Schiff or Pelosi honorable because they go beyond the usual political lies and lie about some very important matters. I like Trump's policies because, thus far, they have been good for America. That is what's most important.

In fact you and the poster you're responding to haven't included any facts. We read your feelings, your frustrations, but that's it. It's the same thing over and over. Poor babies.

You just said liberals can't understand the constitution, yet you all voted for a guy who has never read and who has aides who say he doesn't understand it at all. Is Trump a liberal? Does he hate himself?

Trump Complained That The Constitution Is Too Hard To Read

Also...who on the right are experts in the constitution, according to you? I would love to find out who your heroes are and if in fact they committed any crimes.

Here is your problem, you continue to focus on the past and not what is happening right now. Your 24/7 anti Trump opinions ignore the actual results generated. Let me remind you of those results. The average American is not able to reconcile the 24/7 negative comments from people like you with what they see and personally are experiencing. Americans live for today and you want to live in the past, that is your problem

DP and Dollar change
2013 16974.9
2014 17527.7 552,8
2015 18224.8 697.1
2016 18715.0 490.2
2017 19519.4 804.4
2018 20580.2 1006.1 Notice the drop from 697 billion growth to 490 billion growth then the surge. Trump inherited the 18.7 economy that is now approaching 22 trillion

Then there is this which Trump inherited and the comparison today. Anyone that claims the GDP growth now is similar to what Obama had is the true hack and totally has no credibility

2016 GDP growth 490 billion 1.6% annual vs 804 billion annual growth to over a trillion in 2018-2019
Unemployment Rate 4.7% January 2017 vs. 3.5% today

Employed 152.2 million January 2017 to 158.8 million today so 6 million job growth from 2008 to 2017(146 million to 152 million) is celebrated but 6.6 million growth I the last two years isn't!! LOL

U-6 in January 2017 9.3% vs 6.7% today? Wow!! 2.6% better U-6 obviously meaningless to you

Part time for economic reasons, 5.7 million January 2017 vs. 4.3 million today? Looks to me that incredible job growth you claim was boosted by part time jobs

African American unemployment 8.0% vs. 5.9% today? That explains the surge in support from African Americans for Trump

It's ridiculous at it's very foundation - they believe a 73-year old man wearing women's make-up with platinum blond hair and orange skin when he says, "trust me."

And that man BTW is proven liar and well-known conman.

We have some really stupid ****ers in this country.

What? I thought I shouldn't focus on the past? Your pro trump propaganda literally contradicts what you say I shouldn't focus on lolz.

So do you have proof that Trump had since read and now understands the constitution debunking the aides who said he didn't? Or can you not stick to one topic?

I tried. I really did try to engage you, but the nonsense got to be too much. It's obvious you have no interest in facts or reason. The record of malfeasance is so long and deep it is impossible to ignore. And yet you and your fellow travelers pretend it is not there. It is irrational. I gave you a chance to be serious. It is obvious you have no intention to be so. Therefore, good bye.

As judicial power is the authority to render dispositive judgments, Congress violates the separation of powers when it purports to alter final judgments of Article III courts

"Authority" is definitely a better term to use than "power" in this case. However, this is an impeachment trial - under the sole authority of the senate. It is not an "Article III court". This isn't a criminal trial, and the chief justice is not acting in his capacity as a judge in a courtroom. He will have the authority granted to him by the Senate under the rules they adopt for this proceeding.

And his views are different from yours, how?

I wouldn't know because I don't listen to Hannity. Never did. He's an idiot and I don't listen to idiots on either side. And, I don't watch Fox either. I don't watch any uber partisan nonsense so I won't be listening to the idiot Rachel Maddow or CNN either.

why would official data be called propaganda? You really have no understanding of leadership do you? when you claim that Trump doesn't understand the Constitution, where is your example of that? PROVE IT!!

The record of malfeasance is so long and deep? In the liberal world of politics of personal destructing the rule of law is only validated by a liberal spin. Your claims are as empty as those in the Articles of Impeachment but you spend so much time here reading posts from other radicals you cannot determine a fact from fiction. Everything you post is based upon your own opinions and really total ignorance of the Constitution.

Isn't it amazing how the left seems to believe everyone that disagrees with them gets their information from Fox News or Hannity. Like you I haven't watched Fox News in 7 years and find it is easier doing actual research than listening to propaganda from those whose entire life is now around getting rid of the President and always blaming someone else for their poor choices made

Right. You just happen to parrot his idiocy through osmosis.

And that's another thing: how does lying come SO easy to the modern right? How can being devoid of honor and dignity not bother you?

We're you raised by animals?

It cannot be under the sole authority of the Senate since they have no judicial authority nor Power. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court brings the judicial Power of the United States with him to resolve any legal disputes in this case. The sole Power to Try the impeachment and render a verdict is with the Senate. There is no provision for summary judgement without any Trial by the Senate.

You are the one who seems to be stuck on Sean Hannity. I could care less about him. He really seems to get under your skin. That's YOUR problem.

What idiocy, the radical left's focus on politics of personal destruction? You think it is honorable to make up high crimes and misdemeanors to get rid of a President simply because of hatred? that is a dangerous precedence you liberals have done. The continued focus on reliving the 2016 election campaign while ignoring the results being generated is what radicals do when cornered by their agenda is rejected by the American people.

There is a loyalty to liberalism that borders on cultism as spending in the name of compassion is promoted yet positive results never generated just dependence and debt. The left and you want people to believe you really care about them but if you cared you wouldn't be so selfish expecting someone else to pay for your personal responsibility issues and ignoring state and local government responsibilities

I heard that Senator Warren is the odds-on favorite to be imprisoned:

"All persons are commanded to keep silence, on pain of imprisonment."

You are the one who seems to be stuck on Sean Hannity. I could care less about him. He really seems to get under your skin. That's YOUR problem.

It's quite obvious - what you're repeating is not an individualist/intellectual personal impression of the American political process -- it's lines from a pop-culture, scripted TV-show designed to trick you into carrying-water/voting against your own best interests and for those of a small few. The "executive producer" of the lies and misinformation that you willing swallow, is sean hannity. Even if you don't watch/listen to his shows (which I don't believe for one-second), you are still repeating his BS as it flows downhill to many outlets.

This TRUTH is painfully obvious.

Is Justice Roberts wearing his impeachment robes?

View attachment 67271934

Note the stripes on the upper arms. Justice Scalia had these robes specially made for Clinton's impeachment.

I think it would be appropriate for Roberts to add a clown collar for this preposterous affair, which its stain will be embedded for generations.

Right, all these results benefit only the President?? What is wrong with you people, total lack of understanding of our private sector economy. Tell us exactly which of these results are solely for personal gain? The truth seems to be whatever you want it to be

I posted a link to it in post 180. It's clear you aren't reading my posts clearly or fully. I think it's funny you can't name any heroes of yours that know the constitution. That says it all Good day.

Barack Obama made it clear that his successor would enjoy the fruits of his economic planning. I didn't look at all the BS you posted but all credit goes to the previous administration for anything positive about this economy.

So, thanks Obama.
