Owner of the Seahawks and Blazers. Never married or had any kids so I believe the majority of his money is going to charities?

Rest in peace.

He vowed the bulk to charity. I'm betting his sister will inherit a pile.

He was among the best of owners. Deep(est) pockets, hired football people to run football, and business people to run the business. And he got out of their way.

He will be missed.

Yeah, he is one of the world’s billionaires who joined The Giving Pledge.

Non Hodgkin Lymphoma--blood cancer. I've lost more than just a few friends and associates to that nasty disease. Two of them were on immune suppressants. One had it in his family, and the others were, well--gay.

Whatever the root cause, it's a nasty disease to get. Not much hope.

Allen was an original Microsoft guy who moved on to altruism. Bright, energetic, and a very good human being. RIP.

I read a little more about this earlier. Paul Allen had Stage 1-A Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1982. Hodgkin Lymphoma has a high survival rate. Non-Hodgkin's does not. It's one of those rare medical cases where the negative is not good news.
