As long as there is anarchy on the streets, there is no reason he can't choose who he wants to serve. If you guys really care about racism, crack down on the rioters and looters so that he can feel safe serving black people again. Otherwise, there is no sense to punish him, and let the mob run loose on the streets.

I'm usually known for bridging the gap between conservative and liberal positions. I do not support BLM in that I believe they are misguided and class division is the main driver of our current problems, and because BLM supports some racist ideas, ironically.

But here I've got nothing. This dude is an ***hole, you just can't divide people by race or any other immutable characteristic, it's not fair and not healthy to society.

In many areas, the police have institutional problems that need to be looked at. Too many of them have an us vs them or an "I am in a warzone" mentality that needs to be fixed by better training and if need be, by better recruits.

However, an institutional cultural problem is not the same thing as racism as it is not an intrinsic trait, its just a behavioural problem.

Or maybe they develop an "I am in a warzone" mentality because they are in a warzone. And rather than admonish police for having a mentality that reflects their reality, we do something to change that reality.

Which is exactly why we need to look at what we are funding. Perhaps policing and brute force is not always the solution to social problems, so lets put resources where they do the most good.
