My guess is that Trump has a firewall, and once it's breached he will cut a deal and resign. The firewall is obviously the Senate, where he only needs to hold 40 votes to avoid conviction. But, given recent reports of private conversations, the word is he lacks that support "privately."

I suspect it is safe to say that once (if?) those votes become known to no longer safely remain "private," Trump will cut his losses.

What will it take for those 35 people to come out? That's obvious, IMO. They need to know that coming for the King will not end up in being decapitated (metaphorically of course.)


My prediction: Trump will eventually resign or announce that he will not to run for reelection.

I see him lashing out at the media and going off. I see him pushing conspiracy theories, and threatening if he leaves office the economy will collapse. He will say he is best president ever.

Trump won't resign as long as he has the support of Americans who hate the rule of law. They will all die for him, once he orders them to do it.

He'll only resign if he has a commitment from New York to not prosecute him on any state charges, as well as a promise from Pense of a pardon for federal crimes that have been or will be uncovered. Otherwise he'll take his chances. At worst he loses and faces only state charges, Pense will pardon him for federal ones. At best he survives, is re-elected and runs out the statute of limitations.
