Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73:226]

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

How close to the inner-circle would one have to be to even know about this practice game?

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

In this forum, one vote for Obama and you are marked as being as far Left as Fidel Castro.

BTW: I voted against Clinton in '92, for him in '96 (even though I didn't like him much, he was a good president and far better than Dole); voted for W in 2000 against him in 2004, voted for Obama twice and cast a ballot for Kasich this year. But, guess what? None of the Righty turds accept my "Centrist" tag. None.

Not surprised. It's not what one claims, it's what they do.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

Your point was to imply that the left's critiques the President and admin are misguided and hateful. They are not despite some radicalizing and committing violence. All violence and threats of violence need to be denounced by all.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

There's a claim by Mike Lee that the shooter is at room temperature.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

Another day, another shooting in America.

And the fact that some of the victims are politicians should make no more difference than if they were no names.

They sure don't to me.
As far as people being equal, in that sense it shouldn't matter. But in the sense that the shootings (most likely) are politically motivated it should matter. There will be repercussions to this, and said repercussions will probably take the form of eroding our freedoms and liberties even more and quicker than they already have been. Personally, I'm not happy with that thought.

But then you often say you don't care what other people think, and you kind of allude to that even here, so my response is to your point as it is an important point, but more for other people who do care.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

After watching AG Sessions "testify" yesterday by refusing to testify maybe that sparked the shootings. We have seen a mock of the pig Trumps beheading and now an ongoing stage play where the pig Trumps is Julius Caesar and it stabbed to death in front of the audience. "...and the times, they are changin'."

What's this supposed to mean?

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

It's more a case of Conservative Republicans failing to realize that not everyone Left of them suddenly wants to elect Bernie Sanders. So, these idiots now call what was once a "Rockefeller Republican" a RINO...because, you know, only the most extreme asshole is a real Republican.

And this has zero to do with the shooting, which was more likely caused by the leftwing protesting and violence perpetrated for the last 9 months.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

A local citizen who lives in the neighborhood was just interviewed. He has lived there for 10 years and was at that field with his son the night before.

He was out for a run and noticed people practicing baseball. Said it seemed, "unusual" given the time/day.

He then recognized a congressman and realized it was congressional baseball practice.

I post this because we don't know if this was targeted shooting or random.

This doesn't clear that up but might give us an idea about how known these practices are.

This would have never happened if all the Good Guys had Guns ... oh wait, these were all Politicians and Lawyers. ;)

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

There is a warning at Post 73. Heed it.

Whoops. Just saw this. Sorry. I'll delete what I can.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

A witness said he saw the shooter with a shotgun and a pistol too.

I accept your tag. It's like your that spot dead center between the left cheek and right cheek. I'm not sure what one would call that spot.

Post 4 and everything that follows is why I avoid these threads like the plague.

No...I did not say - that I recall - that I don't care what people think. I have said though that I don't care much what most people think about certain things. Big difference to me.
It is impossible to not care what other people think if you have read/heard what they think about something.

What I meant in my above post is that all people are worth exactly the same. A politician is not worth one iota more than a no name to me.
And the fact that only a minority seem to agree with me is a BIG reason why the world is so messed up, imo.

As I stated earlier, it is like the London stabbings a while back. 7 Londoners killed...the West freaks out. But just a few days earlier, 80+ Afghans are blown up in another terrorist attack - the West barely notices.
Pathetic.

Don't you find the general reaction to this shooting rather eye opening?

A push of the button on the wayback machine reminds me some past history and the reaction by elements of the population:

Climate of Hate - The New York Times

When you heard the terrible news from Arizona, were you completely surprised? Or were you, at some level, expecting something like this atrocity to happen?

Where’s that toxic rhetoric coming from? Let’s not make a false pretense of balance: it’s coming, overwhelmingly, from the right.

https://www.mediamatters.org/blog/2011/01/10/the-rights-rising-tide-of-violent-rhetoric/174930

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords appears be the latest victim of anti-government violence that has taken hold in America since 2009. It's a wave of violence that's cresting along with a tide of hateful, insurrectionist rhetoric that far too many conservatives refuse to condemn. Instead, the toxic talk is routinely defended as being nothing more than spirited debate.

It's not. It's deadly. And until those in positions of power say so, the dangerous rhetoric is likely to continue.

Food for thought....

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

I expect this to turn into a gun control argument fairly soon. :afraid:

Possibilities?

1. Radical Leftist targeting Republicans, either to punish them due to all the rhetoric about fascist Trump, or to give them a taste of "gunfire" to make them change on 2nd Amendment rights.

2. Radical Islamist terror attack.

3. Just some crazy guy with his own axe to grind.

Any other suggestions?

You forgot radical Trump supporter targeting republicans who refuse to cooperate with Trump.

Seriously, though. I live in Gabby Giffords district - people forget that this shooting killed 6 people including a 9 year old girl (Christina-Taylor Green) and a federal judge (John Roll). Thankfully it looks like no one died in this shooting, and injuries are relatively minor (compared to permanent brain damage).

Life really can get extreme - particularly when your best hope is that the guy was another crazy person with a gun.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

A speedy recovery to the injured victims and a big kudos to the police.

There are plenty of legitimate ways to oppose the politicians we disagree with. Violence is not one of them.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

Wow. One of the Congressmen who left the game before the shooting said someone stopped him and asked if the people practicing were Democrats or Republicans.

Re: Reports: 'Multiple shooting' at congressional baseball game practice field [W:73]

Note the targeted were the practicing republicans. Remember when you all blamed palin's target map on giffords?

Womder what you all will be saying about the violent rhetoric of the left lately and this.

There are wackos on both sides
It does not reflect the whole "left" nor the whole "right".

I mean they probs wanna keep their practice secret from Dems so it was only known to republicans.

Also, stop being an idiot.

Which would be good if they had lots of secret trick plays they wanted to unveil during the football game.
