Report: Rosenstein Discussed Wearing A Wire In Meetings With Trump

You havent made a 'reasoned argument' that anyone is at risk. You have just accepted, without thinking, that the claims of risk are truthful. If you dont allow oversight, bad people can hide their misdeeds behind redactions. You are simply defending secrecy because you think the secretive people are targeting Trump.

That's not an answer. There are remedies for malfeasance in government that don't put lives at risk. I don't even know what malfeasance people are hunting for in the FISA Warrants on Carter Page. What do people expect to find? Do they expect they are better arbiters of the voracity of the warrant requests than the 4 Republican FiSA Court Judges that approved them?

Its BS. Your not looking for malfeasance. Your looking for any little thing that supports the DEEP STATE, Conspiracy Theory narrative and simply don't care who dies for your fun and games.

Even when your boy gets some sense and listens to people you just reject that as irrelevant because you just don't care.

Comment made when the Obama Swamp was preparing to launch the Mueller Witch Hunt, with as yet ZERO produced evidence of Russian collusion in the 2016 election, by the President or his campaign/administration.

Now , the unelected bureaucrats there (including McCabe and Lisa Page) are playing it off as a "sarcastic remark", purportedly over the COMEY FIRING, which HE, HIMSELF ALSO RECOMMENDED.

Regardless...this CORRUPT, DUPLICITOUS A-HOLE should resign , immediately.

Report: Rosenstein Discussed Wearing A Wire In Meetings With Trump

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein discussed wearing a wire to record President Donald Trump and volunteered to recruit cabinet officials to potentially remove the Republican from office, according to a bombshell report from The New York Times.

Rosenstein made the remarks in meetings with Department of Justice and FBI officials shortly after the May 9, 2017 firing of James Comey as FBI director, The Times reported Friday. Rosenstein took part in Comey’s ouster, writing a letter recommending that he be fired because of his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

LOL, nobody trusts Trump, not even the people Trump himself is responsible for having hired. Actually especially the people Trump is responsible for having hired. Apparently they all feel the need to record Trump. This should come as no surprise considering Trump's character:

Crazy times in the USA.

Pompous buffoons like Rosenstein think the American people have no right or do not possess enough good sense to decide who should be their president.

That's the type of people Trump is responsible for having hired. It confirms what we heard in the NYT oped and Woodward's book, that Trump has the intellectual and emotional capacity of a ten-year old, don't you think?

I wonder who the anonymous people are who want Rosenstein to get fired?

One of the sources is Lisa Page, and another is Andy McCabe. The Times reporter claims that in a memo from McCabe, it mentions that Rosenstein came up with the idea to wear a wire.

.

You havent made a 'reasoned argument' that anyone is at risk.
One of the reasons they don't reveal source and methods, or release information about ongoing investigations, is to avoid putting peoples lives at risk.
And for national security concerns.
And because it can compromise an ongoing investigation.

Those are facts.

If you dont allow oversight, bad people can hide their misdeeds behind redactions. You are simply defending secrecy because you think the secretive people are targeting Trump.
Pure nonsense.
Plenty of people can see the unredacted versions, and once an investigation is over, more people with appropriate clearance can certainty see it.
The idea that they are all hiding criminal acts in what will be revealed soon enough, is absurd. I suppose we'll find out won't we? Huge DOJ criminal indictments coming...so you must think.

.

From the Times article:

Mr. Rosenstein made the remarks about secretly recording Mr. Trump and about the 25th Amendment in meetings and conversations with other Justice Department and F.B.I. officials. Several people described the episodes in interviews over the past several months, insisting on anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. The people were briefed either on the events themselves or on memos written by F.B.I. officials, including Andrew G. McCabe, then the acting bureau director, that documented Mr. Rosenstein’s actions and comments.

Page and McCabe gave statements that, in my mind don't confirm anything. For example, McCabe doesn't say that any of his memos included that event.

But my question is...who are the "several people" "insisting on anonymity"? And why did they leak the story? Another question...are these people doing this on someone else's order?

Who want Rosenstein to bet fired?

Well, that is one reason to 'leak' misinformatino to the NYT from the white house.

Sure. I can think of a lot of reasons for various people to leak information to the NYT...even from the WH. What I can't think of a reason for is the NYT publishing a story that was leaked from the WH.

The NYT hates Trump.

They don't all have to be criminal acts to get hidden.
McCabe spent $70,000 in taxpayer dollars on a conference table and the cost was redacted from what the Senate was given.
Embarrassing stuff gets redacted too.

You are being silly. No ones life is going to be put at risk. No one is going to die lol. You are just repeating the nonsense you hear on tv without engaging your own brain.

Tell me how that is not the case when you will have adversary counter-intelligence agents reverse engineering unredacted documents? They are good at this. They are not sitting on some easy chair, remote in one hand, a Big in the other, Reruns of the Apprentice on the boob tube and a FISA Warrant in their laps. Your's is a specious argument. It simply is.

The NYT is in the business of publishing news.

Please explain all the covert espionage involved in the OPENLY KREMLIN-LINKED efforts of the DNC/Hillary Campaign/Obama Adm./FusionGPS, that "must be protected" for "national security" reasons, as opposed to said parties seeking to COVER THEIR CORRUPT ASSES...

The NYT is in the business of publishing news.

And/or publishing nonsense from time to time....I think this particular story is legit, based on Rosenstein's cumulative actions and words since his defacto takeover of the DOJ...

The NYT is in the business of publishing news.

Yes. But they publish the news that advances their agenda...which is undeniably anti-Trump.

That's the type of people Trump is responsible for having hired. It confirms what we heard in the NYT oped and Woodward's book, that Trump has the intellectual and emotional capacity of a ten-year old, don't you think?

I don't think Americans are as stupid as democrats think they are. Americans knew who they were voting for when they voted against the painted Hildabeast.

If you think they are covering their "corrupt" asses there is a process for dealing with that. It begins with a review of the results. It does not begin by right angling into the investigation. I have explained this a dozen times. What you are doing is the equivalent of pouring cream and sugar into a cup, tasting it and announcing a verdict on the coffee you have not even poured into the mix. Its that simple.

Further as I have already explained what is the rush. If for example the investigation results in indictments of Don Jr or Roger Stone it will take at least 6 months to a year for any case of any sort to come to trial. There will be discovery and these days discovery docs are released to the press almost the instant the prosecution turns them over to the defense. At that point you can paw through them to your hearts content. You will have the results in your hands which is in fact the place any investigation into the voracity of the investigation and the investigators should start.

If there is a process of Impeachment begun against Trump it will only come if the Democrats win back the House and after real hearings as opposed the the sham hearing run by Devin Nunes. That means from the day committees convene, you would have about 9-12 months if not longer before any of that would result in a vote on the House floor. You don't think documents from that won't be available for review before that happens? So why the heck is there this effort to adopt some mutated process. To protect what. To protect who from whom. The effort is in fact an effort to dynamite this investigation. Donald and his sycophants have been trying to dynamite it from day one. Perhaps you should spend your efforts trying to figure out why Donald has tried to dynamite it from day 1. Nobody is forcing Donald to spend hours on end, days on end tweeting and yammering and switching channels on his WH TV's. Donald's purpose is to dynamite the investigation and that is Donald' sycophants purpose. As to what private purpose private citizens have....I can't guess beyond some prurient purpose because if any of you really cared about Transparency, you would know that it starts with the results of the completed investigation. That is the coffee in my analogy. All you have is the cream and sugar.

Who is going to die if the FISA application is released? Or Comeys emails or texts? Or Bruce Ohrs document trail? You know whats going to die if those things are revealed? The fantasy of Trump collusion. You dont want the truth out because you dont want to hear the truth. Period.

So here we are a day later. The NY Times still has no first hand accounts from inside that meeting to add to its second hand accounts. It has based its entire story on second hand accounts and has treated them journalistically as if they are first hand accounts.

It has had these second hand accounts by its own admission since the day Trump used the Rosenstein memo as one of his many rationalizations for firing Comey. That is months and months and months that the NY Times had that surely it would have used to try to develop first hand accounts. Still does not have any. So how the heck did they decide to release this as a credible piece? We have to assume that they waited all these months because they did not believe their second hand accounts substantive or credible. Does that not suggest that they simply should not have released it at all or at least that they should have gone way out of their way to treat the story as a second hand account based story as opposed to burying that in the body of the piece.

There is no evidence that Rod wore a wire on the President and no evidence that he is so out of touch with the 25th Amendment that he does not understand that it is not a process for removing the President against his wishes.

So its about time that you explained yourself NY Times. The only first hand account that has been developed has been developed by WAPO. It has Rosenstein arguing with McCabe in this meeting and Rosenstein commenting in frustration and sarcasm "what do you want me to do Andy, wear a wire".

Embarrassing stuff gets redacted too.

So it's not criminal stuff being exposed...they are intentionally attacking the DOJ because of it's ongoing investigation into matters of national security...because they want to embarrass the DOJ.
And you all support it. <- thanks for admitting it.

You have quite a bizarre thought process.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in case you really didn't get the point.
The point was that Congressional committees want to see documents they're entitled to see and the intel chiefs are withholding or redacting portions of those documents for several reasons:
  1. they might be personally or collectively embarrassing
  2. they might be personally or collectively criminal (that would be quite embarrassing too)
  3. or they might present a national security risk

Assuming you thought it's only #3 (it appears that's what you've been assuming), that would be foolhardy as I've tried to show you.

So it's not criminal stuff being exposed...they are intentionally attacking the DOJ because of it's ongoing investigation into matters of national security...because they want to embarrass the DOJ.

Yeah, It's all a counter-intelligence operation, and they've yet to produce anything of counter intelligence value. Wonderful. Maybe that's why the entire basis for the investigation is subject to so much skepticism. And the DOJ has done enough to embarrass itself without any help from others. All those people fired means something even if you choose to ignore it. Others aren't so blinded by hatred for Trump.

I don't think Americans are as stupid as democrats think they are.

I'm not a democrat. I just go by evidence, such as peer reviewed journal articles, reputable sources, Trump statements, things like that. For example:

Donald Trump declares 'I love the poorly educated'

Research Finds That Racism, Sexism, and Status Fears Drove Trump Voters

President Trump has made 4,229 false or misleading claims in 558 days

Americans knew who they were voting for when they voted against the painted Hildabeast.

marke, you saying "I don't think Americans are as stupid as democrats think they are", and then calling Clinton "Hildabeast", it makes you look stupid.

Anyways, as I said earlier in the thread, I think Trump's character is largely responsible for all the recording of Trump, because everyone knows he's a lying slimeball flimflam man. What do you think?

You are not very persuasive when you claim "everybody knows he is a..." Maybe you should have said instead "everybody knows the slimeball would make a better president than the lying crooked lady which is why everybody voted him in and voted her out."

At least 5 witches have either plead or been found guilty so far. More to come.

As far as wearing a wire when meeting with Trump, it is highly advisable because the man lies like a rug.

Absolutely no one has been charged, pleaded, or been found guilty of colluding with the Russians to influence the election or anything to do with obstruction of justice.
