Report: Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen reaches plea deal with feds

Is that one, Fear: Trump in the WH?

I have that pre-ordered too.

Yes, should download overnight and be ready to read morning of the 11nth.

Cohen isn't White House Counsel. MaGhan is...and he was interviewed for 30 hours....he indeed could be Dean.

I know.

Another thing that came out of the John Dean interview on NPR that I heard yesterday, is that there is no attorney-client privilege for the president and the WH counsel. The attorney is accountable to the "office", not the individual. (Dean was discussing McGhan)

I don't think Trump can pardon him.

these are state charges not federal so there is nothing trump can pardon him for.

The US real estate industry was heavily invested with purchases from Russians laundering money. UK and many other countries as well
10 B fine for one bank, Duetsche Bank

Was this a secret before the election? While he was running?

I heard some references to it during the campaign...did nothing come out of research? Not enough to move on? Not enough time? Nobody believed he'd win?

He was not brought up on any of the state charges. Only the federal ones.

Someone here wrote that he could still be charged by the state, but precedence says it's unlikely after a plea deal.

It was probably not a particularly good idea to let Cohen twist in the wind. The man knows at least 20 years of Trump's financial dealings, including all of his dealings with Russia.

Trump just ordered a case of Xanax. Twitter just fired up the spare servers. Brace yourself people.

The plea deal doesn't include cooperation...

Any deal could have dramatic implications for the president, who has worked closely with Cohen for more than a decade. The deal, however, does not include cooperation with investigators, The New York Times reported, citing two people familiar with the matter. Cohen could still choose to cooperate.

I don't think there's any chance that Trump runs again in 2020. He's not going to get any more popular and he'd be the oldest president ever to be elected. I can't see the GOP leadership remotely going along with that. But then again, I've been wrong over and over about the GOP. I guess that's what happens when you assume that people act rationally.

With that said, I don't think that his base would abandon himself for any reason whatsoever. I mean, think of the worst possible thing you could think of him doing. Mentally ill? Russian spy? Money laundering dope? Secretly molesting his daughter. Believable? Yup. Do you think it any of it would matter to his supporters? I mean he brags about barging in on naked under age girls like it's a conquest. He cheated on his pregnant wife with a porn star. He's been convicted of institutionalizing racism multiple times. The things we know that he's done are horrible enough.

It's all low information emotional support. Reality doesn't matter.

don't forget that he allegedly also took pay to play bribes from corporations through his lawyer's hidden bank account and used the proceeds as hush money for at least one of his affairs. FFS, i don't see how any politician can survive something like that, but his base just doesn't care. we're in something like a cult dynamic, and that is chilling.

thought these were state charges. ol well if not then yes trump can issue a pardon to him.

Former federal prosecutor Chuck Rosenberg said on MSNBC that - right now - the lack of that designation means nothing significant. Often the cooperation has already started or is in the process of extablishingthe parameters when this initial plea is made and the more formal cooperation develops soon after.

If there's no cooperation by now, there probably won't be. That Rosenburg dude said that to spare the Libbos's feelings. That's understandable, because you guys had a lot riding on this.

It was public knowledge ref Russians and the real estate industry, same with Banks fined.

There are some state charges that could have been brought...but have not so far. The taxi business for one.

So why are we here, now?

Cohen just pled guilty, told judge that he did so in coordination and at direction of Trump

Cohen said that he violated campaign finance and election laws at the direction of the Presidential candidate.

Does anybody know which candidate he might be referring to?

So why are we here, now?

How many times have we seen Trump supporters twist and turn, deflect and BS when it comes to protecting Trump?

An admitted felon just implicated Trump as a felon.

Wow

Yeah, things are starting to unravel, we'll see how it shapes up. But he certainly indicated that it was all done at the order of Trump. So we'll see. Not a good day for Trump though.

Um, to me that doesnt let any single one of those involved in the Democratic campaign, or the media, or the FBI or other security agencies, off the hook.

This isnt about The Donald's supporters...it's about those that were supposed to ensure only qualified candidates ran. If there was criminal activity to be discovered, **** it, it should have been discovered and investigated.

And I wont discount investigating Hillary either. The very fact that there was a question about criminal activity for her and the FBI not investigating was the final nail in her coffin IMO.

(And btw, I'm not pissed at you, the messenger. I'm just pissed!)

Whoa, he said Trump told him to violate campaign finance law.

Time to revoke the security clearance of another career Intelligence official!!

Read counts 7 and 8. Trump is most likely an unindicted co conspirator
