Rep. Cummings: Will Kavanaugh take lie detector test and ask for FBI investigation?

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) on Thursday asked whether Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh would support a call from his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, for an FBI investigation and submit to a polygraph test.

Cummings, who is the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, tweeted Thursday morning that Kavanaugh should support the same standard that Ford did before coming forward with her allegations in a Washington Post interview on Sunday.

"Dr. Ford passed a lie detector test and asked for an FBI investigation," Cummings tweeted. "Will Judge Kavanaugh do the same?"

If he's innocent he should have no problem agreeing with Rep. Commings' suggestions in order to clear his name. If he's unwilling it shows he has something to hide & should resign.
 
Anyone know if Elijah Cummings has agreed to a criminal investigation into his background and to take a polygraph test to determine if HE has tried to rape anyone?
 
Ok Ford testifies Monday, Kavanaugh takes lie detector test Tue, FBI evaluates all evidence makes its notes to Congress by Friday Vote for confirmation on Oct 1.

Anything else is a stall tactic.
 
Take a polygraph test? No, to REALLY get to the truth better science than a polygraph should be used like tarot cards, reading tea leaves or a Magic 8 ball as those would likely be more accurate than a polygraph test.

That will be THE hardest question for Kavanaugh to answer: "Will you submit to a polygraph test?" I have no doubt he would give a carefully crafted no.
 
Why does Kavanaugh have to prove his innocence? Why is this not from the context of proving guilt?
 
Who really cares what any Representative has to say about the subject, they are not involved and only saying something to try to be relevant.

Because he has been accused by someone who is reputable. He has to clear his name or he will just become another Clarence Thomas with a perpetual cloud of guilt over his head.

Interesting standard you have developed, accidental or otherwise. You get to determine "reputable" and that means who you do not like as accused has to prove their innocence.

(Anyone else find that alarming or should we just go along with the idiocy of politically convenient based determinations of when someone accused faces their accuser or has to prove their innocence just because.)

Many Democrats increasingly demand a presumption of guilt unless proven innocent about men if the accuser is female. Sadly, many, many, many men have spent years and decades in prison because of this - most of black men (making it perfectly consistent with the Democratic Party's history towards black men - now wanting ALL men treated like the Democratic Party treated black men accused of assaulting a white woman for over a century.)

Oh I agree everyone in government who's been accused of something should take a lie detector test and if they decline they should all resign.
