The widely shared photo of the little girl crying as a U.S. Border Patrol agent patted down her mother became a symbol of the families pulled apart by the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy at the border, even landing on the new cover of Time magazine.

But the girl’s father told The Washington Post on Thursday night that his child and her mother were not separated, and a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed that the family was not separated while in the agency’s custody. In an interview with CBS News, Border Patrol agent Carlos Ruiz, who was among the first to encounter the mother and her daughter at the border in Texas, said the image had been used to symbolize a policy but “that was not the case in this picture.”

If you look closely, you can see Hands up Don't shoot and Dan Rather all at once.

Brian Williams was there. Honest. And if you look closely, you can see that the left front tire on that Chevy is floating above the ground, too.

Old news. MSM is already hard at work finding (creating) the next anti Trump crisis for Americans to latch onto. On Monday.

Its a fine representation of the 2500 children who were taken from their parents.

I honestly never thought it was real, to be honest.

It looks like an image that was specifically designed to appeal to emotion, regardless of authenticity.

Would you call the 2500 children taken from their parents a crisis. A crisis that could have been avoided and should never have happened. How long will it take to reunite these children with their parents, if ever?

If it is indeed such an important crisis why lie?

It is a picture that truthfully DOES NOT represent any of the 2500 children who were taken from their parents.

Therefore to the dishonest hacks, that must mean that kids are not being taken from their parents, even though they are

Off topic, but I'll respond on this just this once.

I would call the NEED to do this to 2500 kids a crisis, and it certainly isn't of our creation.

Just whose creation is it?

2500 children were NOT taken from their parents.

Their PARENTS chose to intentionally break the LAW and with trumps policy for Zero tolerance instead of catch and release, Law enforcement has NO option other then criminally detaining the parents, During this time the child is safeguarded during the parents adjudication.

IF THE PARENT did NOT break the law the child would never have been separated in the first place. IS THIS FALSE?

If the parent and child, went to a legal port of entry and AT that time, claimed Asylum. They would be detained and case reviewed. And they could legally escape prosecution or be deported together.

MANY of them are NOT going through the legal ports of entry. Secondly, They DO NOT go to the legal ports of entry because they were likely caught already as adults trying to enter the US illegal prior. The second attempt is NOW considered a FELONY rather than a simple misdemeanor.

Again if they Were TRULY legitimate, as there is a LEGAL port of ENTRY and we have a LEGAL process for Asylum. They would not be separated as misled by the media.

Please PUT facts in front of emotions.

The media gets caught LYING.....again!

It wasn't the same magnitude of a crisis when Obam and Bush did it. What's different now?

Never mind- we know.

Even funnier, they are using that fake incident as the poster child for the evil Nazis jailing parents for a misdemeanor when, in reality, it was a felony since this was her second offense.
