Read Nineteen Eighty Four

Dopey thread. 1984 has nothing to do with gun control. And while I’m here, 2nd Amendment types are not winning any kind of conflict with the US military.

Yes and when Trump was leading Biden, many of the same group decided to stay silent. I'm not surprised to see that this is being propped up. It's still pulling up to be the same as them bumping Hillary, well before the election caught up to all the hype in 2016.

The worst part is, is that they're trying to blame something like the economy on Trump. Which is just an insane presumption in my opinion.

As we said in the army, if it's stupid and it works, it's no stupid.

But first we had to convince France we could win

No, the French were Britain's imperial rivals, they would've done it anyway as a way of fighting British imperial power

Germany sent rifles and machine guns to the Boers during the 2nd Boer War for example

The USSR sent guns to North Vietnam and the USA sent arms to the Mujahideen in Afghanistan

...Washington WON the battles of Trenton and Princeton

So ?

By the way... The British will to fight(In parliament) started to wear down prior to York town at Guildford Courthouse. A Battle that Britain suffered HEAVY casualties

That was the early British empire which was based on trade....the later British empire was based on power and prestige

In the 2nd Boer War, for instance, Britain suffered far heavier defeat, yet would pour in millions until the war was won
(check out "Black Week" - the loses make the American Revolutionary War look like a snowball fight).

No, the French were Britain's imperial rivals,

Yep, and got their ass kicked in the French/Indian war(wink)

they would've done it anyway as a way of fighting British imperial power

see above(wink) They also aren't going to join what they think is a losing cause(*sigh*)

So?

He kept the REVOLUTION alive(that's all)

*Sigh*

Poor and irrelevant rebuttal

S what ?

During the Revolutionary War, the French navy had the upper hand over the Royal navy and this proved a vital assistance to the revolution

They also aren't going to join what they think is a losing cause

Why not ?

Germany did in the 2nd Boer War
Did the USA know it was going to lose the Vietnam War
Did the USSR know it was going to lose in Afghanistan ?

In just about every "revolutionary" war since WWII, the USSR supplied aid - none more so that the aircraft and material it supplied Egypt in their two wars against Israel in 1969 & 1973 (who were and are supplied by the USA)

Translation: You have no answer other than you know that if the 1776 American colonists had been facing the mindset of Victorian imperialistic British politicians, they would have lost.

Saratoga was a pin prick to the reverses suffered by the British army in "Black Week" - check it out
Bunker Hill is laughably small when compared to Spion Kop
Look at the manpower Britain was willing to invest 120 years later

Shame on you for watering down our American revolution! The greatest non- religious event that ever was

...the British were starting lose the will to fight BEFORE YORKTOWN

The same could be said of the demoralized British army after "Black Week" 120 years later

In on other words, you have no reply. No counter argument. Nothing.

Like a boxer smiling at his opponent when he's just been wacked and hurt...

Why you poo poo he inspired and kept the REVOLUTION alive?

So what ?

Are you saying the Revolution was just the will of one man ?

I somehow doubt that
He was no Churchill figure keeping his country in the war by personal willpower alone.

Shame on you for watering down our American revolution! The greatest non- religious event that ever was

The Battle of Hastings ?
The Spanish Armada ?
The Glorious Revolution of 1688 ?

RW patriots often mischievously suggest that without the USA, the British would be speaking German, but without the rise of the English/British empire, following the defeat of the Spanish Armada, Americans would literally be speaking Spanish or French.

Anybody who hasn't should read the book Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell. That's the kind of world that gun control will lead to.

I don't buy your claim, but it is interesting how we're starting to see elements of that book become prevalent in our lives, mostly thanks to the far left.

For example:

-most of us have listening devices in our homes, and who knows what they're doing or who's listening when we're not thinking about them.
-"Newspeak" is rampant. Aliens who are here illegally are not "illegal aliens," they are "undocumented immigrants." People in prison are not "convicts" or "prisoners" anymore, they are "individuals involved in the criminal justice system." And so on.

Just out of interest what is your source that prison inmate are now referred to as ""individuals involved in the criminal justice system" ?

And many illegal immigrants are indeed documented, they just overstay their visa.
