There's a time and a place for everything. Protests, marches, demonstrations, rallies, etc. all have their time and place regardless of what it's about. People go to sporting events, movies or watch these things to get away from the realities of life, away from the daily grind and away from politics in general.
Personally, protesting in an arena, ball park, football field isn't the place nor the time. This can be done in its proper environment for such things be it protesting taxes, racial injustice, wars, government policy or anything else.
I've been watching the Atlanta Braves games and I haven't seen any protests at all. I did see one prior to an NBA game, but I'm not interest at all in the NBA and quickly changed channels. Not because of the protest, I just don't like NBA basketball. Now college basketball is right up my alley.
Now if there was protesting at the college game I turned into see, I'd either ignore it by fixing some popcorn in the kitchen or switch channels for awhile before returning to the game I first tuned into watch. Sporting events etc. aren't the right place, time or environment for a protest, demonstration, etc. Being we tune into these things to get away from the realities of life for a couple of hours, they probably hurt the protesters cause more than help. But that remains to be seen.
I think we seen this in whatever Kaepernick was protesting was completely lost in the debate about kneeling when the national anthem was played. Far as I'm concerned, they should stop playing the national anthem prior to any sporting event. Playing of the anthem should be played for patriotic events, not sports.
