Rand Paul to have surgery in Canada due to injuries sustained during assault

Because you’re purposefully trying to lie about what I am saying. I never said a non-canadian could not get care in a Canadian hospital. I said Canadian hospitals and clinics may not offer private services that compete with a service offered by the single payer system.

Hospitals are not competing with the single payer system. You mean other private insurance companies cannot compete with the single player system.

But how does that explain why Canada has such great healthcare that Rand Paul is going there instead of a U.S. hospital?

It has nothing to do with it. Since this service is not offered by the public healthcare system and the clinic is not publically funded. Going to Canada to buy Tim Hortons coffee is as relevant to healthcare as going to Canada for this elective operation.
