Raleigh NC Melee: Police subdue a Black Man named Frederick Hall[W:48]

Re: Raleigh NC Melee: Police subdue a Black Man named Frederick Hall

I definitely think you're a dork... ;)

Many grins! You say that from a very safe distance away from me. In post #9 GDViking apologized.... even before finding out I plan on visiting his neighborhood in September. That Viking temper can lead to points. He just came back from a suspension. I like GDViking.

You communicate very effectively! Your posts consistently display thoughtfulness and humor. Do you have any dork friends? Please keep me in mind.

lol..I know, I saw you guys had worked it all out, otherwise I would have refrained from being a jackass... ;) Also, none of my friends are dorks, when compared with me.

Have a good one, bud. :)

The Link provides an update on the Frederick Hall case and more video footage from body and dashboard cams -

https://abc11.com/man-at-center-of-...er-joins-family-stays-silent-on-case/4024163/

So far it's been rather quiet, compared to how it could be. My youngest son and his wife live right outside Raleigh, and other than a few small protests, news conferences by the normal folks you see on TV in a local NC event like this (NC NAACP leadership, Democrats running for office near where the incident occurred, and so on) there hasn't been any major events as a response. And the guy at the center has seemed to keep his mouth shut - I presume that is under the advice of his lawyer - and I think that's probably the best thing for him personally to protect his Constitutional rights, no one else will.

I think, because the videos show a pretty clear (although still not complete) picture of what happened and why, many people are giving the police and the SBI the time they need to find out what really occurred and not jump to conclusions like has happened in so many other events.

Plus, the Raleigh city government has a pretty good relationship with the various community leaders across the city, which includes the Police Department as part of the government having a good relationship. Which helps.

Just my personal observations. No empirical data to cite.

I expect this arrest to stir deep resentment and result in serious repercussions in Raleigh.

What do you expect?

I would like to think that people of all races would see that this man was violently fighting and resisting multiple officers and that it has nothing to do with race but I am sure that race baitors out there will stir things up and try to make things worse...

John Hughes fan? First time I've heard the term since the '80s.

Easy, Sally.

My intellectual side is taking over...

Hahaha- for 50 years I have thought the word was permanently current. It should be.

Let me make certain it is clear that I withdraw my use of it re Mr. Trekker, with apologies.

John Hughes? Who he? I have not owned a TV since 1996, and I have not gone to a movie since the last of the Lord of the Rings series ca. 2005.

The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Weird Science. Also, Mr. Mom, Lampoon's Vacations, Ferris Bueller. Then a ton of movies for kids like Home Alone, Beethoven and such.

The term 'dork' is probably in every film.

TY for the info, but 1st thing I did was Wiki, and nothing rang a bell. Like I said, I am just not interested in 21st century TV and movies. Well, I did watch a lot of The Sopranos when I was around TV while visiting family, but that's about it.

I despise the establishment, haven't owned a TV in decades except a bit recently. Haven't been to a movie, except a rare doc or something, in decades.

John Hughes is still great. And he uses 'dork' a lot.

I'll have to do a utube search on him.

Re: Raleigh NC Melee: Police subdue a Black Man named Frederick Hall

Not unless people want to pull the same stuff as other previous events where the media lied and misled people, however given the cam footage it is likely any media attempt to stir conflict would be quickley shot down.

I wonder if they could be charged with inciting a riot?

He wrote the films, and directed most of them. He's not an actor.

I despise despising the establishment... it is a great medium that enhances life and teaches wonderful lessons...

Are you Bodi Proof now?

I hadn't noticed they're softballs. Instead of getting pissy, I'm just gonna crank 'em.

What do you expect?

Play stupid games win stupid prizes. The suspect was actively assaulting multiple officers.
Of course the media will find something wrong that the officers did.... The bad guy is lucky he did
not get shot.

Re: Raleigh NC Melee: Police subdue a Black Man named Frederick Hall

What do I expect?

I expect commotion from the locals, flogged on by the democrats and the news media (same thing really) at it fits their preferred narrative.
I expect the police to pull back in response.
I expect that the locals will cry to have the police back, which won't be covered by the media nor the democrat politicians as it doesn't fit their preferred narrative.

And I expect the usual paranoia that your post exemplifies.

Actually, the paper said it is his mother telling him to keep his mouth shut. I believe the quote was something along the lines of her saying "when I tell him to shut up, he shuts up".

I've seen this repeated a number of times now, Baltimore, Ferguson, et. al.. Not sure what paranoia you are referring to.
