Eliminating less popular candidates during the primary season is.....normal. Happens every single election!

We'll see if Joe Biden is one eliminated in the early going. My own view is there are better candidates. Like someone has mentioned, he's run twice, and failed miserably twice. I'm not sure why being Obama's VP will change his broad appeal this third time around. He's also not inspiring. He's basically - "Hey, I'm center right, Republican light, vote for me Democrats!" Might be safe for the wealthy, middle age and older suburban vote but I can't see the appeal outside that demographic.

They've already yanked his strings so hard that he reversed a position that he has staunchly held for decades ... POOF! "I've had an epiphany!".

However, the net result will be good for America, as the further left they drag the party, their chances of defeating a successful incumbent centrist diminish exponentially.

Schultz could be a spoiler. He has delayed his run because he wanted to see what Biden would do and see if Democrats would run a more centrist candidate. If Joe is knocked out and Schultz jumps in as a third party candidate he very well could pull enough votes from the democrats to give Trump a victory.

Or if you'd just like to suggest a mechanism for the cause and effect. Blacks in the South became overwhelmingly Democrats, whites in the South vote overwhelmingly Republican now. This shift demonstrates that whites becoming republican and in the party opposite blacks somehow caused less racism in the south, BECAUSE____________________________________________________? And fill in that blank.

If voters haven't learned by now that all an independent does is pull votes away from the center. It was said Perot hurt Bush Senior's reelection campaign. This time round it would hurt Dems more than the GOP because Trump owns that base lock, stock and barrel.

It's not the biggest, but it's important for both parties. I'm not discounting the significance of that - suburban voters are key in a lot of elections.

He's just not a good candidate on his own IMO, and his FAIL record the first two times, and his early mistakes this time, all point in that same, loser, direction. I don't have anything against the guy, I just don't think he's the best choice.

You couldn't be more wrong. The thing that changed the voting structure of the south is migration. With the advent of air conditioning, millions of northerners moved south. As someone who has lived most of his life in the south, I can tell you that the good old boy, redneck southerner would rather cut his wrist than vote for a Republican.

A real dilemma for the Democrats. Their hero admits he works well with racists who by the way are also Democrats (how inconvenient). He also said of Obama, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man." It is not hard to see how Biden really views blacks. This after he gets caught feeling up and hair sniffing on women. Biden is doing an excellent job of alienating himself from both of the Democrat's chief voting blocs. How long before he totally self destructs? Any bets.
