Quid pro quo?

Klattu, Klattu, Klattu...

Arguing with people who believe we didn't land on the moon, or that a hologram hit the Pentagon?

It's a waste of everyone's time, and only encourages the delusion.

Which is why no one argues with you?

Giving money to someone is not illegal. If you drop a dollar into a panhandler's cup is that illegal? Also every transaction we are involved with is a quid pro quo: you order a beer in a bar and the bartender gives it to you and takes your money: you just did a quid pro quo. IF the quid or the quo is illegal, THEN you have a problem.

We as the USA gov't? Sure.
We as in, the political office of the prez using bribes to gain a personal political advantage. Not good and maybe criminal. But certainly against political rules.

Well, not about the Elvis Death Hoax.

He's been eating plantain, peanut butter & bacon sammys in Mexico since 1977.

So is asking for foreign assistance in our elections.

If he thought Biden corruption was an issue he should be asking his own DoJ to investigate.
Actually, he was acting in accordance with a treaty Bill Clinton signed in 1999 that established an bi-national agreement for prosecuting corruption by citizens of either country in the other country. Biden's own clumsy, brain-cramp infested appearances are doing him more damage than anything Trump and Zelensky can cook up.

This also is NOT a criminal investigation. But ethics and extortion by using a political office for personal political gain.

But there was no political gain..soooooo

It's really great watching Trumpists twist themselves into knots trying to pretend they don't know what they are seeing in front of their eyes is incredibly wrong.

Some really good faith arguments by some quality human beings.

The problem with so many Trumpist arguments (in general) is that the Trumpists making them (in general) are total drooling nitwits.

Nitwits don't know they're nitwits. It's the curse of the nitwit.

Ironic.

Ok . party A says I'll give you, party B, this if you give me that.

If the cops bust in right there-that's a problem.

But suppose the cops find out much later party A gave the the money without party B doing anything?

You forgot to mention Party C did not get invited to the party and that means its members decided to unsubscribe from the party C because Party A and Party B were having illegal fun at the cost of Party C. Does party C have a valid gripe?

and what about Party D that were trying to decide whether to have illegal fun parties or keep it legal and they were watching the results of whether the members of Party A and Party B were going to jail or not? Do they decide to have illegal fun parties all the time?

Decision, decisions, decisions.

...makes no sense. Try again.

Even more ironic.

Yeah, you really don't know what that word means.

Typing the word "ironic" doesn't make the criticism of you or your position go away. It doesn't really do anything to help you.

It's just a slightly lazier way of saying "fake news" (apropos of nothing at all), because "ironic" takes fewer keystrokes.

You seem to think that just by showing up here you've achieved something.

Think harder.

I did not "expect" that it would make sense to you. It was the other readers of the OP I was aiming for.

It makes sense. It also makes sense why it doesn't make sense to KLATTU.

Soooo? He got caught before there could be political gain. So, you're admitting he tried to use his power of office for personal gain. Just didn't materialize. That is your defense?

This isn't a criminal trial, this is about rules for political offices.

Soooo? He got caught before there could be political gain. s.

No. Not what happened. Aid was given without any favor delivered. Getting caught is irrelevant. The phone call became known way after the aid was already given, Try again.

So, are you a nitwit?
