Question about Jesus and Hell.

There you go, again...answering a question that was asked of someone else...:roll:

...with only you objecting. That should tell you something.

I disagree...there is such a thing as MYOB even on a public forum...

And it wasn't just "your" business; was based upon a running-dialogue throughout a public discussion, not its own. It floors me that an adult actually thinks this petty.

Exchanging ideas and offering responses to exchanges of ideas in a public discussion is not "rude". Telling others to "butt out" in public discussion is rude.

Self, meet mirror.

Any speculation about imaginary beings does not address these questions. And it is not rude to consider questions which have no answer to be a waste of time.

Please educate yourself on ontology and epistemology, then get back to me.

Your ignorance is astounding.

Which, by the way, is the whole point of being here in a public discussion forum in the first place.

Ya know what they say about opinions...:bootyshake

But you said

Allegorical = fictional

and

Allegorical is philosophy

I said that allegory was fiction. What I didn't say was that all fiction is allegorical.

What do all these fictional elements have in common?:

Animal Farm
Nineteen Eighty-Four
Thus Spoke Zarathustra
Waiting for Godot

What do these authors of fiction all have in common?

Albert Camus
Ayn Rand
Herman Hesse
Samuel Beckett

Allegorical, thus philosophical.

Which has nothing to do with the false claim that I somehow inferred that all fiction is allegorical.

You said philosophy doesn't involve fiction. Clearly, it certainly can. That in no way infers that all fiction is philosophical; not in the least.

Allegorical = fictional.

Which is not the same as saying all fiction is allegorical. Where would you even get that?

Here's a tutorial which might assist:

Whereas all allegory is fiction, not all fiction is allegory.

There. Settled.
